Anti-south Indian lobby in BCCI conspiring against me: N Srinivasan

New Delhi: N Srinivasan has claimed that he
is a victim of an anti-south Indian lobby in
the Board of Control for Cricket in India
(BCCI) that is conspiring against him.

Srinivasan was responding to a query
regarding Janata Party chief Subramanian
Swamy’s tweet in which the latter has
claimed that a north Indian lobby was
targeting south Indians in the BCCI.
"It is an open secret that there is a
conspiracy against south Indians," he said in
an interview to a TV channel.

Srinivasan was forced to step aside from the
post of BCCI’s president following the arrest
of his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan’s in
the IPL spot-fixing and betting scandal.
He said that the charges against Gurunath
will be disproved.

"I have trust in him and believe that he will
come out unscathed. The charges against
him will be disproved," he said.

Oddly such statements only sell in TN. The other S.Indian states are not easy buyers of such rhetoric against N.Indians. Even TN is a difficult sell these days.

Anybody who is aware of politics in BCCI knows this is true. It has nothing to do with selling newspapers or selling anything.

most people outside BCCI does not know about it .....but it does not make it any less true. But then why only BCCI ...lots of organizations have this divide......some times its caste based ..... or language based ....or class based. Its just a fact of life in India.

Being president of BCCI is much more powerful than being all those things you mentioned.

^^^Yep the top two officials Sanjay Jagdale and Ajay Shirke who recently resigned were also North Indians.(sarcasm)and on top of it Sharad Pawar who pressurized Srinivasam for resigning is also North Indian.
