The Punjab Assembly of Pakistan introduced a resolution on Wednesday to condemn Prime Minister Narendra Modi for accusing Pakistan of cross-border terrorism, reported Pakistani daily The Nation.
The resolution came a day after Modi and Sharif met for the first time in New Delhi. First day into his job, Modi had on Tuesday asked Sharif to clamp down on terror and fast-track trade to bridge the trust deficit between the neighbours. Sending out a clear message to Sharif, Modi also asked him about the progress of investigations into 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.

In the resolution, the Pakistan-Punjab Assembly accused the Indian government of providing help to terrorists in Balochistan province. The assembly, however, did not allow the resolution to be taken up for debate.

Modi and Sharif had met on Tuesday, a day after Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister. After the meeting, Sharif had said the meeting was good and constructive. Even Sharif's National Security and Foreign Affairs Advisor, Sartaj Aziz, said on Wednesday that the outcome of the meeting was better than expected. He also said that the meeting was not just a photo op.

On Modi's demand to Pakistan to expedite the 26/11 Mumbai attacks case, Aziz said this was not the first time that India had raised this demand.
