PTI protest: Peshawar Ring Road blocked for Nato supplies

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) is all set to protest against the drone strikes in Hangu and before the massive rally, the Ring Road in Peshawar has been closed for Nato supplies by placing containers, Geo News reported Saturday.

The PTI rally is due shortly in Peshawar and the supporters are gathering on the Ring Road that has been blocked for Nato supplies by placing containers. Strict security measures have been taken to avoid any untoward situation.

The rally will be addressed by PTI leader Imran Khan, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hasan and other leaders.

It may also be mentioned that the provincial cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday, expressed strong condemnation over drone strike in Hangu district and decided to hold protest demonstrations and rallies in front of UN office, US Consulate and the Parliament House buildings.

Addressing a press conference following the cabinet meeting, the Information Minister Shah Farman said that the cabinet constituted a three member committee comprising provincial ministers including himself, Inayaullah and Sharam Tarakzai to contact leadership of different political parties to participate in the protest rallies.

KP government considers drone strike as attack on sovereignty of the country and demands of the federal government to take some concrete decision on the issue, said Shah Farman, who was flanked by Provincial Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (LG&RD) Inayatullah and Sharam Tarakai, Provincial Minister for Agriculture.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has urged the federal government to call another All Parties Conference (APC) and take a consensus decision regarding stoppage of drone strikes in the country, he added.

So do you mean that Haqqani network should be allowed to operate freely inside KPK?

ask nawaz sharif about his policy maybe? last time I checked he claims to be the premier.
So you're saying that KPK is an orphaned province lying only on the discretion of Nawaz Sharif? Or is it that KPK government is being handled by blind and handicaped people?

care to explain this then?

what are you doing jumping from one branch to another like a monkey?

I think FIR should have been against Obama vs Federal govt of Pakistan for violation of sovereignty of Pakistan. but if you insist it should have been against Obama by KP govt for violation of sovereignty of KP.

I have asked for the explanation, spare me the rest of your "thoughts". Where does this FIR leads today's dharna? What steps has KPK government taken to curb the foreign operatives in her lands? And I want the answer not your usual rants.

Blocking NATO supplies: TTP tips hat to Imran Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN:
The announcement by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan to block Nato supplies in protest against drone attacks is an appreciable step, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesperson said on Friday.

“Imran Khan has taken a welcome step,” TTP central spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid said while talking to reporters from an undisclosed location.

“No there is no question of ceasefire,” he said responding to a query regarding any chance of respite for peace.

“We are being attacked in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where we are fighting a defensive war, so we will continue to hit the area from where we are targeted,” Shahid said.

But one thing is clear, Shahid said, “We are exacting revenge from security forces and not the public.”

Here he specified that the public did not include the ANP, PPP and MQM, the three leading secular parties of Pakistan that the Taliban will never pardon.

He said there was no question of dialogue with the government after the killing of Hakimullah Mehsud. “However, peace dialogue is possible if the TTP Shura and Mullah Fazullah decide.”

The way Nawaz Sharif is begging the US to stop drone strikes shows the lack of power of the government, Shahid said adding even a simple tribesman can ask the US to stop drone attacks.

Referring to Jamaat-e-Islami chief Munawwar Hassan’s statement that Hakimullah Mesud is a martyr, Shahid said, “Hassan has rightly conveyed the feelings of the Muslims.”

Regarding the slain TTP chief, Shahid was adamant on revenge. “We know the killers of Mehsud. We will track them down,” Shahid said concluding, “Hakimullah would be avenged like Sheikh Osama and this is not just a threat.”

since you are desperately feeling orphan, I remind you again that its a state policy. ask nawaz sharif if he has changed the policy? infact two days ago, nawaz sharif hosted a meeting between Aghan reps and taliban leader mullah baradar.

No more NATO supplies via KPK, declares ex-foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi at PTI rally

So KPK is hosting the Haqqanis because it is national policy? Then whats the point in dharna today since KPK is following the "State Policy" right? :P
