Managed to speak to someone at PAC.
It was roll out of 1000th overhauled aircraft which happened to be an F-7.

PAC leads Pakistan to self-reliance: PAF chief
KAMRAH: Chief of Pakistan Air Force Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman while terming Pakistan Aeronautical Complex as the backbone of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has said that PAC was guarantee of Pakistan’s protection and self-reliance in defence production.

Addressing a ceremony to roll out the 1000th aircraft at PAC, the Air chief said that due to unity and cohesion we are able to see the roll-out of 1000th aircraft.

He added that PAC has emerged as one of best organizations in the country.

He said the future lies in manufacturing of 5th generation aircraft and development of sophisticated radars.

Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain while addressing the ceremony said that the government was attaching highest priority to self-reliance and indigenisation of defence production.

He lauded engineers and technicians for augmenting country’s engineering potential by successfully overhauling and repairing weapons system.

He thanked China for continued support and assistance in the field of defence production. He said the bilateral relationship has matured into a strategic partnership with more opportunities for development and professional growth.

KAMRA: Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) has completed the overhauling of 1000 aircraft during a ceremony held here at PAC in Kamra on Tuesday.
Chief guest and Minister for Defense Production Rana Tanveer Hussain while addressing the ceremony said that the government was attaching highest priority to self-reliance and indigenization of defense production.
Lauding the engineers and technicians for the successful overhauling and repairing weapons system, the Minister said efforts are being put in to achieve greater autonomy in these two areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman said that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has been relentlessly pursuing these goals that have achieved remarkable expertise in specialized field of navigation and overhauling of aircraft.
He added that PAF substantial progress has been made towards achieving greater degree of self-reliance in defense production

ROLL-OUT CEREMONY OF 1000TH OVERHAULED AIRCRAFT
HELD AT PAC KAMRA

Kamra 07 March, 2017: Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra achieved another historic milestone when in a grand ceremony the 1000th aircraft was rolled out after complete overhaul.
This event was celebrated as a major benchmark in aviation history of Pakistan. Mr Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Defence Production was the Chief Guest at the occasion. Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force also attended the ceremony. Vice President of China National Aero-technology Import and Export Corporation (CATIC) and other senior civil and defence officials were also present at the occasion.
While addressing at the occasion, the chief guest appreciated the efforts and dedication of officers and technicians of PAC Kamra for their contributions to the national cause of self-reliance in defence industry. He also lauded the role of Chinese friends for their continued and uninterrupted support and patronage. He highlighted that the Pak-China relationship has matured into a strategic partnership with more opportunities of development and professional growth.
The Air Chief, while speaking at the occasion, highlighted the contributions of PAC in sustenance of PAF operations. He said that the aircraft produced by PAC have not only saved valuable foreign exchange but also enabled Pakistan to emerge as a self-reliant country in the field of aviation The Air Chief also appreciated the close cooperation between the aviation industries of China and PAC and said that the present achievement is yet another remarkable milestone in the history of Pak-China Defence Cooperation.
Managing Directors of Aircraft Rebuild Factory and Avionics Production Factory presented the overview and brief history of these factories respectively. Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra has emerged as a well equipped manufacturing and service base for producing 2-seater Mushshak as well as JF-17 Jet Fighter which has become the standard workhorse of the Pakistan Air Force.

Yeah? tell me how many Aircraft manufacturers are still in business from 45 years ago?

Not significant only about 25 aircraft a year over 45+ years of operation.

Considering it used to take some 18 months for say a Mirage aircraft to be overhauled in France.
Apart from saving time and revenue, the PAC didn't just rebuild certain types but also upgraded the systems.....the 50 odd Mirages bought from Australia for spares ended up with half of them made airworthy again by the PAC.
