In the purported clip, a voice — said to be that of PM Shehbaz — can be heard saying that Maryam Nawaz had asked to facilitate her son-in-law.

Looks fairly harmless. A special favor was asked, and the PM refused it. Not sure what the brouhaha is. Anybody can request a special favor and that is perfectly fine as long as it gets dismissed.

1. PDM & establishment intentionally leaking this to play good cop / bad cop.

Most Pakistanis use 3rd class Chinese phone. Even cheap online commercial software can easily record everything on them.

Not Pegasus, $60 software are available online. iPhone are bit harder to hack. Chinese and Korean phones are much easier.

They are illiterate idiots. Friend of mine who supposedly work for special division under NSA in PMO told me, despite restrictions on bringing mobile phones in meeting , many senior officers forget or doesn’t really care. This is the their level of following security protocols.

No wonder lumber#1 is full of holes and leaks.

No way that either ISI or MI or NRTC don't know about this. Someone knows.

The interesting part is, who knows, and whether the man at the top of the military agencies were in the loop or not. If they were not, that's toooo far fetched that a rogue 2 star did it on the orders of a 3 star who is not his direct boss.

If they were in the loop, then that opens a whole other can of worms, but fits in well with what is going around these days. Be prepared for Hafeez Sheikh as your PM/FM.
