i read somewhere some are being shifted to other nations like Philippines, etc...It works in india favor too. Make india less depended on american economy. That should be india's priority for the next 10-15 years.

Normal prison procedure but India government keep harping on this procedure and turn it into a sexual misconduct by the US law enforcement.

@OCguy I completely agree I have no idea why the politicians are doing this neither modi nor the leaders of the congress have any idea of how to run the nation. Modi is overhyped while manmohan singh has for some reason become silent as opposed to his revolutionary ideas in the 1990's which brought India into the world forum and launched our growth. We don't have the ba*** to take on China's incursions into our territory or the rapid military growth of pakistan. Neither have we been able to solve the kashmir issue despite 60 years and several wars. While I absolutely love my country I hate the direction it appears to be following.

@Star Wars the US made a bunch of mistakes. They shouldn't have gone into Iraq or afghanistan and they shouldn't have used proxy warfare tactics but rather than ask the public and the army most leaders simply do what they want.

there...i agree with you...but it is done to everybody that is brought to a prison. i understand it is considered "barbaric" in india, but not in US.

oh and btw..she is NoT a diplomat.

Unfortunately I don't believe it will be long before China or Pakistan exploits this cooling of US-India ties.

Putting ego and nationalism before national self-interest and security is why India will not be taken seriously as a world power in this lifetime.

I don't think it is about the projection of power, but rather being very emotional.

Media news is always confusing and a twisted one, no need to depend those head lines completely. No one is backing down in India.

On the other side USA State department is issuing one statement, their law enforcement authorities are toeing a different line and John Kerry is on a different track.

One thing is sure USA is trying to cool the tensions.
