Isis usually looted them and sold those stuff on the black market I dont think they are stupid to allow those artifacts to be destroyed when they sent specialised men to hunt any sort of treasure.

Reminds me of Imperial Japans treasure hunter soldiers loot and find any sort of useful artifact that can be sent to fund the war effort.

I can't fully remember it but I think he means the hadith which states that something will happen to Euphrates river and gold will emerge. People will fight over the gold.

For me personally I think that refers to oil ..the gold is basically oil
