Disagree - India has some of the best skillsets in pilots and well trained. The problem lies with their leadership and their massive brain drain towards commercial airlines.

PAF pilots - who tells you your golden tales?

The reason the PAF has performed better is due to leadership and a few honest souls. Otherwise pilots that ran and sellouts are abound there as well.. but then Ill sound like a certain Barray mian here.

Learn to actually know the enemy instead of painting rosy pictures just like the Indians do. No difference in intellect and honesty otherwise

- get shot down alot
- maintenance rivals some dodgy Iranian car repair shop
- poor logistics
- poor command and control
- crashed more planes in peace time then the entire PAF
- sub par fighter doctrine

1971 was a political issue. How does this dovetail into fighter pilot proficency ?


If you think this is 1971 well .. it might be... for india. ie mass killing, torture, shameless discrimination of muslim, the fabric of country challanged.

doesnt change fact that IAF is 10 years behind PAF interms of training and tactics according ACM Sohail.

I can assure you that PAF thinks, observes, prepares & trains on "Otherwise" manners as compare to your opinion. You train for the best so you perform better. PAF & IAF, thinks totally different and see results. Don't underestimate IAF skillset. PAF came on top just because they prepared on "Otherwise" thing.

71 was due to numbers. Pilot skills and training has always remained with the PAF. For example, the f86 that took down a mig 21. The mirage pilots that racked up a 5:0 kill-loss ratio. The f86 pilots that stopped the lahore assault dead in its tracks. The f86 pilots that shot down so many hawker hunters.

The f16 pilots that shot down multiple Soviet air force and Afghan AF jets during the 80s afghan war. The f16 pilots which shot down the iaf mig 21 and su30mki

The mig21 pilot that shot down an Israeli mirage in 73/74.

Pilot training has been dominated by the PAF and will continue to do so Inshallah.

Although we shouldnt underestimate indias pilot training. Although lack luster compared to ours they have improved.
