If they had so much strength that they can lend 10,000 or 14,000 fighters against a small hill post, they could have been conquering entire hindostan. That was not the case, to hide the shame and losses, british empire always exaggered that they won or lost against 50 thousands or 60 thousands strong lashkar of afridis in a battle/ambush
