What's new

An open letter to fellow countrymen (Whats the purpose of this fight?)

I understand your sentiments on recycling of "old faces" however, its given in the rotten parliamentary system of Pakistan, because you can play with only those who are part of your cabinet. Things become even worse because sitting Govt doesnt hold two-thirds majority vote. PTI's own members and its allies know this well enough, hence blackmail PM day in day out.

Now somebody might bring in the old and boring notion - Why Khan shook hands with ex- PML-N & PPP parliamentarian and accepted them in his party? Because it was imperative to win the election all thanks to parliamentary system of Pakistan, which has no room for clean and sharif people. We all saw when was the outcome on 2013 election when Khan has no electables on his side.

Absolutely understand your point but consider the following points:

1. IK has shown that he doesn't limit himself to utilizing parliamentarians for key cabinet posts. He has a number of special assistants (all technocrats / non-elected) that serve as ministers. He can simply have more of them.

2. Buzdar alone is a problem of such gargantuan proportions that no excuse can make up for it. There are better options in the party. Way better. Hell, there are better options in Elementary Schools across the province!

3.) He will, at some point, need to outgrow the "I'm Helpless" narrative that has been used to justify the a.) COAS extension, b.) nonsensical and, frankly, criminal postings of ineffective idiots at key posts and c.) too many Mush-era old hands in his inner circle.

I also wish to see more competent individuals like Tania Aidrus, however, there are already fingers are point toward her due to her nationality.

I have been vocal voice against Buzdar. I was under the impression that he is utterly incompetent, but he is also a crook it seems based on information I have seen in past few days. He is the worst appointment Khan has made.

IK's biggest issue is that he made tall claims before elections, which is haunting him now. However, on contrary, its also a fact that PTI's Govt is a weak Govt (because it doesn't have majority) and has been constantly blackmailed not only by its allies but also from within the party. Therefore, Khan ends up giving ministries to many who he perhaps doesn't wanted to in the first place.

Pakistan's economic situation was utterly hopeless when PTI came at the helm. Any other party including PML-N & PPP would've to face the same heat as PTI did. Nobody had magic wand, which he will swing in the air and fix Pakistan's economy. Not to mention at some point, Pakistan was at the verge of bankruptcy. Icing on the cake dollar could've crossed RS.200 all thanks to the loans previous Govt's took. On the same token of previous loans, massive chunk of tax collection money goes towards the re-payment on the interest of loans and also, Govt has to take more loan's to pay loan's, which is ludicrous.

Its high time we should all realize that because the Govt doesnt hold the majority, there are challenges for them, however, there are things which they can and should be able to do i.e. Police reforms, which they promised. Also, I am watching it closely how Govt will help to establish 120 accountability courts across the country for early disposal of corruption cases on SC orders. We didnt see any improvement in education and healthcare system of the country (which is a disappointment, because no reforms are needed for this) apart from Sehat Insaf Card (which should be appreciated). Furthermore, Govt had many impressive successes on diplomatic front and their Ehsaas program initiative should be appreciated as well.

Also, I will acknowledge that Khan made wrong decisions, of course, because he had no previous experience. However, one cant question his intention/niyat. Speaking of intention/niyat Khan is trying to purse towards one of his election promise - low cost housing scheme (not to mention how many industries will get boost construction and jobs will be generated), which had too many hurdles.

More to the point, there are new projects under CPEC has been initiated based on announcements & information came to fore by Asim Saleem Bajwa.

That said, how PTI has performed will and should be judged at the end of their term/5th year. Irony just dies when supporters of PPP & PML-N, who had multiple terms question sitting Govt just after 2 years. They had truck load of suggestion for this Govt, however, they never implemented their own ideas when they were at the helm.

Last but not the least, beside a honest Govt Pakistan desperately needs changes in the judicial system, it badly needs clean and honest judges and lawyers. Corrupt and crooks judiciary is holding the country back. FIA comes under Federal Govt, which can opens a case/inquiry against an accused, but LHC, IHC, SHC, PHC bails him out. Similarly, many got their bail approved from these counts against NAB corruption references. Also, many murderers got released from same counts. This gives the message that no matter what sin you commit, you can get away with it if you bribe judge or have services of an expensive lawyer (he will make everything go away). PTI's Govt again has invisible handcuffs, due to which, they cant do judicial reforms.

In a nutshell, clean and strong judiciary doesn't suit our filthy politician. On the same token, a clean Govt doesn't suit crook Pakistani bureaucracy, because they wouldn't be able to do corruption. This is another drawback of PTI's Govt that bureaucrat aren't ready to do their job under the Govt.
