This media and especially Times Now sucks and how!! Example:

PM Modi's coverage of his visits to France and Germany where major economic decisions were taken for the country, the media especially Times Now gave 5 minutes or less coverage. The same day guess what was trending and breaking news which went on 24X7?? MIKA SINGH'S SLAPPING A FAN ON STAGE!!!!!

Wow just wow!

DD is now the best. They covered the full visits with their reporters on the spot with discussions on the economic implications for India. In contrast, the trashy media especially Times Now went to town discussing the whys and hows of Mika Singh's slap, whether he was drunk, analyzing in great detail the angle of his slap, how the fan could have ducked the slap and so on! That 30 second slap video was looped a million times - over and over again!!

WTF is going on? Our media has become a bloody joke.

I agree it is unbecoming. No matter how irritated he was, the General is a role model and should not give into such statements. Doesn't suit his high office and reputation. Understandable if someone lower in stature (like Raj Thakeray) had said it. Not him.

Yes and thats why i believe that there is little difference between this news channel ( ) and a gossip promoting entertainment channel. They surely believe any publicity (howsoever they get it) is a good thing.
Besides i've seen Times group always portraying themselves as someone taking on establishment (Right from NDA 1 time) and i suspect that they have a hidden agenda of their own.

Lol.. well he is my relative and i can assure you in real life he is very different then what "image" he maintains. He is involved in lots of social work too but albeit without too much publicity... he is senior to me in age and experience and yet he hears views from all without behaving the way he does in public debates..
I said patriotism bcz our home state got languished with silly issues of local and national governments who could not take on terrorist elements, illegal migrations, slow development etc. Much from his delhi days, he had seen that political class lacks the decisive will to correct and admit wrongdoings.. he had seen spineless actions when innocents are killed across the country which first he saw in his native state due to terrorists.. all this and much more had influenced him a lot. But he does do many things (i admit honestly) for staying in limelight for TRPs for his channel.

Honestly NO.. he does not but his team does as they keep on mining for tit bits and reporters to run for stories.. The only thing is whatever we debate about defence he has a good mix of ex and present defence folks and experts who are close friends of his to know the reality. This helps him cut a lot of speculations which we see here as we dont have access to the "decisive info".
Sadly, he is very secretive of his privileged talks. He keeps his sources and the discussion close to his heart and rarely lets any info slip. of course he switches off his journalist mind when he is with family folks
