No you are wrong. Pakistanis don't actually like to watch Hindi channels and if they do the reason is entertainment. If Pakistan has a real cultural mix, it has with USA. And some arab culture has also tried to come in. Our people really like USA, they are inspired by it and like to watch their channels, programs.

The cartoon channels in Hindi are more of a headache for their poor dubbing and low class. Preferred to watch are the English channels instead.

USA can claim any cultural tentacles as it has proved to be a power in the world. People view the Indian society to be very lowly here in our part of the world.

Hindi has borrowed Urdu words and not the otherwise. Generally speaking people actually make fun of your lingua franca and the way that you speak. Urdu and other regional languages of our country are pretty sophisticated when it comes to linguistics.

There is nothing wrong with learning another language. As a matter of fact, I encurage everyone to learn language other than your native.

I have problem elsewhere. Suppose a Pak channel did same then all hell would have broke out and certain Awami bigot would have make big deal out of it.

i saw bd girls even in small town speak hindi(by hindi i mean bollywood hindi)... every bdian I met tried hard to speak hindi, some succeeded some struggled(guys are usually worse than girls)...
funny thing is I dont speak good hindi myself...

I don't speak urdu...I don't speak Hindi (though I understand it)....I'm not too fussed about these students speaking hindi (fluently or otherwise). I get more pissed off by girls in private universities in bd pretending like they cant speak bangla.

Some of these dumbasses maybe went to the US on vacation a couple of times and all of a sudden...it's all, 'haami ummm bangla...ummm bolte...paarina...like OMG...like, like...'
