An Asian tiger in the making

Great progress for Bangladesh. I've seen a lot of attention to Bangladesh's economic success in Indian media. There is definitely a growing appreciation and respect for Bangladesh among Indian public these days. I'm sure that other developing countries are also taking notice of BD's economic rise
Not sure if u r joking or serious lol

I'm serious. You have an unreasonably negative opinion about BD. I don't know why, but you are entitled to yours as I am to mine :pop:

BNP type who has no say in BD affairs since 2009.
Hasina has neutered them for the good of BD.

Best ignored to carry on with their rants as it makes no reality to what happens in actuality.

India exports that much electronic every 12 hours.

But yeah, it's a big deal for a low ECI score economy relying on RMG exports.
Have u ever seen any where ppl can be this cringy lmao...bragging about 11 million dollar walton exports... hundreds of page of discussion about it.

Exactly. I feel like Bangladeshis has lost mental balance these days. $11 million exports and they compare this miniscule company to Samsung with $250 billion in revenue. I mean have they lost their minds?

According to Naysayers, Bangladesh is a chaddi stitcher, there is no export diversification.

But when you point out to them that Bangladesh has begun exporting other products, they start mocking you for boasting.

No one is under any illusion that Walton is at any level comparable to global giants like Samsung. But what's important to note is that Bangladesh has started it's diversification. That's the key. Even the global giants like Samsung had started small.

If 10 years from now the export composition is same as what it is now, then there is valid justification for being pessimistic. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but not irrational rants.

Bottom line - you cannot please the naysayer, as they will continue with their circular argument.

The worst kind of naysayer is the one who lectures Bangladesh and criticizes the corruption, yet has no shame in boasting about their own corrupt activities abroad.

Another sector to watch out for is pharma.

BD drug companies now supply 98% of the local demand and exports are rising quickly.

API park to be set up this year and hence increasing the value add to BD.

This fiscal BD is likely to be above 200 million US dollars - up from 100 million 5 years ago - 15% average yearly growth.

The thing about Walton is that it seems to have reached "critical mass" now that exports are now exploding.

With the data already in for the first 9 months of this BD fiscal(July 2021-June 2022) it will smash its 100 million dollar export target and that is coming from just over 1 million US dollars just 2 fiscals ago.

They think 1 billion in exports for 2025 and 3 billion for 2030 but all their projections for the last few years have turned out to be pessimistic.

Definitely the success of Walton will be a good indication over the overall development and diversification of the BD economy over the rest of this decade.

Completely agree.

If they succeed, there will be others who will try to emulate their success and join the industry. We are already seeing 8 Bangladeshi manufacturers in total in the industry, manufacturing electronic products. More will join if these pioneers are able to demonstrate success in both domestic and foreign markets. That's how our RMG manufacturers reached their current position as a big player in global market. And this pattern is not exclusive to Bangladesh.

India hating the fact that Bangladesh is taking their manufacturing and jobs. Indians couldn't compete with China and now the jobs go to Nigeria, Bangladesh, Indonesia and India again misses out for another generation lol

Lol India does more trade, has better forex numbers and has 25 times higher govt revenue. No one believes your supposed growth (BBS magic), hence the lowest FDI and VC investment in all of the South Asia.

Afraid of comparing yourself to China?

Lol. We don't compare with them because we know we don't yet hold a candle in front of them and which is what exactly missing in Bangos, the sense of reality.
