Amir Khan visits Army Public School Peshawar

A UK born Pakistani is honest definition:confused: who visiting his homeland.
a person who is born in UK is a British , pres. Obama is of Kenyan ancestry but he is an American nonetheless , this is nationality we are talking about , citizenship , Oath & Loyalty...... serious stuff

.
A boxer, born and raised in Bolton, England.

He's first generation. His parents were born in Pakistan. Whenever he visits Pakistan, he always goes to his ancestral village despite them being economically poor people. Not everyone suffers from an immigrant complex which you do. Quite a lot of Pakistanis are true to their roots.

Well said. And important to recognize.

Amir Khan is as British as the Rochdale predators. If Amir Khan is a Pakistani, then so are they, equally.

I don't know about the US but in UK he is classed as a British PAKISTANI, unless you are white there is way no the locals here will call you English. Still don't understand your post bro. o_O

You don't have to; if there was something that went against Pakistan.....according to your 'bro' he'd suddenly be more Pakistani than the Quaid himself.

I guess the people in Britain must've missed your memo; otherwise they wouldn't need to qualify him as a British Pakistani instead of as just a Britisher.

The fact is that hes a Pakistani and hes a Britisher !

Why you gotta be so cruel? Everytime you post stuff like this, you start this:

M2T_zt.gif

Theres nothing cruel about what he said; he was born and raised in Bolton - Thats the truth innit ?

However why should it not make him a Pakistani ? :what:

no you are wrong , there are many Americans who are of irish, English, german ,latin &Spanish ancestry but at the end of the day they are American , you are obliged to be loyal to the country which provides you shelter.

jis thali main khau ge, wafadari pe bhi Haq uski !

Who says that they are not American ? But who is saying that they are not Irish American and so on and so forth at the end of the day ?

This obligation of loyalty goes without saying but if one were to take such a parochial view of things Nations would not have come up with the notion of of dual nationalities and would've have instead said 'you can only be loyal to us and no other'. And yet they don't say that because they realize that this isn't a zero-sum game and one can have multiple identities at the same time.

Amir Khan is a Britisher by citizenship*, a Pakistani by nationality* and a British Pakistani by culture - All of them at once !

*not in the legal sense but in terms of their usage in the English Language.

Lol "Khan" is originally a Turkic title. There's no such thing as "wannabe khan" and no single ethnic group has a monopoly on the title "khan". Amir is a rajput from Rawalpindi, and most landowning rajputs and Gakkhars there use the surname "Khan". These people were using the surname "Khan" as far back as the time of Babur, when he described his interactions with the local Janjua rajputs and Gakkhars. Apart from the Potohar tribes, most rajput tribes of Azad Kashmir also use the surname "Khan". The leader of the Gakkhars who resisted Sher Shah Suri was named Sarang Khan as far back as 1500s. And trust me, we are a dead proud people. We don't want to be anything else, nor do we want any association with other peoples. Heck, we are so proud that we don't even take wives from other people, let alone give. Lol.

I know 18 ancestors of mine, as I have a family tree, and most of my muslim ancestors had the surname "Khan". It's funny when people who don't even know the name of their great-grandfather call others wannabe.

A third generation immigrant?
not everyone changes his flags.
