American President Biden Calls India ‘Somewhat Shaky’ on Punishing Russia Over Invasion of Ukraine

For those who didn't get the news. India became a superpower over a decade ago, at least according to the hindutva fascist fantasies, and during the self stimulation sessions of their military and ruling elites.

In reality, in the short term, India just wants to take full advantage of west's paranoia about china to get all the perks from them, while only being a half hearted ally at best.
In the middle term, India will act in a very cautious and calculated way so it doesn't have to fight a war with China alone, while not totally alienating it's neocon, and naive western liberal supporters. So inspite of their bluster, and militant rhetoric, they will not start something with China that they can not win.
In the long term India sees itself as the premier fascist superpower of the world, where everyone pays homage to their vedic heritage and accepts their inhumane religion, culture, and society as a model for humanity to follow.

They pandered to India's extremism for 2 decades now, it nearly sparked a nuclear war when their jets crossed over and tried to kill children.

I like how for India its “shaky” and for Pakistan it’s “we have no option but to work with them”.

not somewhat shakey but firm in minding its Interests.
Precisely. India has an independent foreign policy with the infrastructure and skill sets to support it.

True, US is our ally today. Despite tensions in the past, our cultures have been intermixing for some time now. The relationship we share has a solid foundation and it is only likely to grow with such a strong well integrated Indian diaspora.

But we also appreciate history. US isn’t ‘shocked’ or ‘awed’ — they already know it. I would wager they expected this exact response from India. The opposite happening would have been a real surprise instead though. For everyone.

Whichever administration runs the day, india has remained consistent in maintaining an independent foreign policy — as shielded from personal agendas as possible. We have walked away from lucrative offers and proverbially “shot ourselves in the foot” —- many, many….many times in the past. Results speak for themselves today.

Strength respects strength. Nation states usually last a lot longer than individual lifetimes. You might see Modi and Trump do all kind of antics as individuals. But that does not mean India capitulates when we are asked to deviate significantly from our interests.

We cannot afford to be whimsical.

There is heavy Pro-Russian sentiment in Indian public, military and analyst circles. It will be interesting to see how this effects India's stance.

This is clear solid definition of current Indian policymaking. But from American view points of Democrats India cannot hang USA in the middle, sooner rather than later India has TO DO MORE actions on the recent QUAD memberships otherwise those perks will be taken away in growing Chinese pressure on border LAC. At most India can afford a proxy incident here or there but really not in position to single handedly go to 3 way nuclear confrontation all around its nation.

Modi is a lackey of the US.

US is putting pressure publicly to give room for Modi to publicly align with the US.

Modi is a lackey of the US but he needs some ammunition to take decisions in favor of the US.

Modi will use this statement from Biden to put pressure on the Indian Military to cancel the S-400 and other deals with Russia.

More like Modi-Biden shaking hands under the table.

@LeGenD @waz @Irfan Baloch why are we tolerating this false flag troll ? He is known for littering nonsense in every thread,

India looked for its interests and cannot be a yes man of West. GOI has to look after 1.4 billion people and not after West.

mighty Germans had to fall in line when asked to do so on Russia. Anglos biggest fear of China keeps india from getting sanctioned on its failures india knows this been given a free card to not worry it will be let off of China

At first, I think India can only bear the pressure of USA for a month, and then they will give up India's diplomatic sovereignty and national interests.

Now it seems that I was wrong, it should be two months.

But India needs to be seen to be delivering if the west is expects to look the other way. Even the Germans are stepping up to re-equip their military, but India seems to want it both ways and isn’t confronting China while expecting to be allowed to buy large quantities of Russian Oil.

This years “Summer fighting season” maybe where the west wants to see India deal with China or else the S-400 deliveries in the fall maybe met with CAATSA sanctions.
