China is the undisputed world champion of these technologies and while they're a powerful deterrent, they aren't the final arbiter of a military conflict. No single weapon is - what wins wars is a combination of power and will. China's will to reunify Taiwan is far stronger than America's will to defend it, and while the balance of power is shifting in China's favour, it's still far from being in China's favour in every scenario. No reason to get into a fight today with a 50/50 chance if tomorrow my chance is 100%.

To take an example, if an invasion were to happen today the US might allow Taiwan to fall and opt to blockade China's shipping at the Middle Eastern chokepoints. That puts it outside the range of most Chinese systems. The US could keep harassing China for years. The only solution to a problem like that is for China to be able to project decisive power around the world - doing it in the First Island Chain alone is insufficient.

I don't believe there's a war to take Taiwan outside World War III, and China must be prepared to fight and win it. China must be prepared to seize all of America's Pacific holdings (including Hawaii) and credibly threaten the US homeland with attack if not invasion. Only when China can mount that kind of force will it be able to surely deter the US from intervening in Taiwan. And once the US is deterred from intervening, Taiwan will simply fold instantly and join the PRC on the PRC's terms.

The US military is developing a triad of hypersonic weapons. ARRW is set for operational capability next year on US bombers. The 4,000+km LRHW for the Army in ‘23, and Prompt Global Strike on US submarines by ‘25.

The US has already demonstrated a 4,000+km HGV than can strike within 6in of its target, so I’m not sure how you deduct that China is the “undisputed world champion of these technologies.” That’s simply false.

It only gets harder from here for China as the US starts lining the First Island Chain with precision strike networks.

The US already has the capability to project and sustain power anywhere it want to in the world. Your living in your own fantasy.

A war with China will certainly result in millions of American deaths. China has coronavirus weapons that make covid-19 look like a walk in the park, carried on cruise missiles, air launched.

Reunification with Taiwan is an inevitability that is waiting to happen, however China is still nowhere near ready to take on the US, much more preparation is needed, dozens more SSNs are needed (SSKs are helpless against SSNs since the former has to surface from time to time while the latter can stay submerged for months with unlimited range), a good number of CVNs are needed (type 003 is probably conventional). Then there is the semiconductor industry, China's semiconductor industry will have to catch up to that of the US before a Taiwan war.
China cannot place all it's hopes on just the nuclear button, for example if the USN began sinking all Chinese merchant ships outside the SCS then China will for sure not respond by firing nukes at the US, therefore a conventional force that equals that of the US in the Mediterranean, South Atlantic, Eastern Pacific and Indian oceans (virtually the entire world) is needed.

I believe the reason why Xi Jinping extended his term beyond the typical 10 years was because he wanted regaining Taiwan to be his main accomplishment because that would elevate his name above even Mao Zedong so perhaps by the 2030 the war for regaining Taiwan will happen.

If Taiwan must be reunified by force, their "president", if surviving, would be put on trial as a conspirator in treason, sedition, crimes against humanity, war crimes, murder, robbery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, racketeering, membership in a criminal organization, fraud and assault. Since Taiwan is not a legally recognized state, their leaders are technically running an armed criminal organization.

They will be duly convicted and executed like your war criminals were.

Since Taiwan is not a legally recognized state, their leaders are technically running an armed criminal organization.

Same can be said about Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Artsakh.

China sacrificed millions in Chinese civil war. Not sure if Americans are willing to sacrifice millions to defend Taiwan.
