Altay Comparison to Competitors

The Atlay drivers hatch will never be that thick due to the turret being in the way. As for your ubber NATO standard, it did not help all of those burned out Abrams in Iraq and what standard are you even talking about? The Altay uses South Korean armor does it not? Is South Korea a NATO member?
Armor is developed by Roketsan

You Rokestan manufactures licensed South Korean armor?
Roketsan, besides the development of ALTAY Turkish Main Battle Tank armor system, will also realize design, production and testing in connection with light/heavy armored vehicles and base zone protection solutions in the Ballistic Protection Center with its infrastructure and highly trained personnel.

huh? burned out Abrmas in Iraq?

have you seen videos of Abrams performing against ISIS?
Iraqi Abrams have downgraded armor yet couldn't even be penned with RPG-29 into its ammo storage.

Such a troll.. lol..

Altay uses "roketsan" armor.
Altay uses "aselsan" fcs.
Altay uses "Mtu" engine.
Altay uses "mke" L55 cannon under licens.

S.korean cooperation is mostly about managing designing skills, and L55 cannon . And may be some sub systems.

Being ignorat must be so good.

The Armor is South Korean.

Altay (tank) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tank will benefit both from indigenously developed systems and from the armor technology of the South Korean K2 Black Panther, thanks to the agreement signed with South Korea.

@ptldM3

We test in a battle an auto loader against manned loader. Last was faster. The reaction time is not irrelevant. You see, an auto loader is not always an advantage.
The purpose of auto loader is not faster loading but reducing tank crew size and effort. This can lead to a tank with a much smaller profile than a manned loader.

This is none sense there are dozens of destroyed Abrams pictures in Iraq and reports of RPG-29s penetrating American Abrams tanks, as well as Chellengers, and Merkavas.

1st your are saying licensed production, now you are saying it benefits from the armor technology. They are not the same things, you can get some tech from someone and then modify it or completely redesign it in your own facilities. 2ndly you are not acknowledging any Turkish input regarding the armor.

Personally I don't think the Armata is bad, it just so happened to stop at a parade which makes it look bad to the average joe and according to you that was due to driver error, idk. Armata is a smart concept, 1 vehicle that can fill several roles such as troop transport, bridge layer etc.

There is no point in comparing these tanks because we don't have any statistics or a lot of footage of them operating, maybe the Armata and Altay can face off in the Russian Tank competition.

Dimitri needs to let off some steam after that Aramta failure. Please be more understanding to our guest here.

nope

during the war US lost a total of 18 Abrams

there are couple cases of RPG-29 managing to penetrate Abrams but causing little to no damage
1 case is penetration of frontal armor by RPG-29 but only causing minor injuries to the driver.

the majority of lost Abrams , are in result of IEDs or combined use of everything from RPGs to molotovs
prior versions did not incorporate add on armor on the bottom of the tank for protection against IEDs
which are now being incorporated through upgrades.

in some cases Abrams tank was immobilized and hit by multiple RPGs and was finally finished off by Molotovs being thrown into open hatches.

again , you can watch videos of Iraiq Abrams vs ISIS.

Buddy, it was Turks that started bashing the T-14, never said a thing about the Altay prior to Turks instigating a fight. In fact, I did not say a thing about the Altay until recently. So how am i a troll? You people started it and now you are mad because you are getting a taste of your own medicine, which is bitter apparently. You brought this on your self.

South Korean

Altay uses "aselsan" fcs.

Don't know enough about this but it would not surprise me if it was also foreign.

Altay uses "Mtu" engine.

Armata is a pretty good tank , taking crew protection into a new level
both Armata and Altay are great tanks and comparing the two is pointless.

Most of them were scuttled by ISIS after Iraqi crews fled and left the tank behind. Only 1 Challenger was penetrated in Iraq, and wasn't even knocked out. Merkava is overrated, but still much better than any Russian tank.

You don't know what you're talking about. Come back when Russia can make a tank that can survive a battle.

The emergency break system was accidentally turned on after the problem was discovered and the emergency brake system turned off the tank drove away.

That is one long reply for telling me i was right. Yes US Abrams have been penetrated in Iraq. Hence the entire ubber NATO standard armor that somebody mentioned earlier will not save you.

The Altay uses South Korean armor, there is plenty of sources that acknowledge this fact. Say what you like, word it in any order you like the facts are out in the public domain for everyone to see.
