Almost the same: ADB keeps Pakistan’s growth forecast at 4.5%

lolwa..really ? May be that's why an insecure Pakistani kid dragged Indian mathematics in to this discussion ?

No he didn't. It is you who out of your insecurity related to shining India BS started posting about so called Indian mathematicians.

We can grow by many percentage if we can fix our load shedding and gas problem. Don't expect magical numbers until 2016/2017.

This year we will start to control gas shortage and next year electricity. By late 2017 our gas shortage will be eliminated (Iran pak gas pipeline being completed). Early 2018 electricity load shedding should be cut by half compared to now (we've capacity but our infrastructure, line loses, and not enough power allowed to be added without tripping power should be fixed by then) And by 2020 the electricity shortage will be nearly eliminated.

we are not seeing anything in taxation reforms nor any solid energy plan. The services sector is suffering due to lack of reforms in health and education..the very reason we will not be able to go beyond 5
How much is Nawaz paying in taxes? He should set an example by making a start. Then others may follow.

Nothing wrong in it.

And nobody gives a sh!t.
How come you only talk of shit and toilets? You need to disinfect your brain.

That shouldn't be a problem seeing that you have only a couple of brain cells.

When india grows with good figures and pakistan average growth, so we can assume that more Indian states even small going to be more economically powerful than whole pakistan

Bombay already has a larger GDP than pakistan.

Actually we are seeing some work in taxation, though not at the pace we'd like to see. So you can't say that "we are not seeing anything". Government introduced this withholding tax to bring people in the tax net. But you know what happened? The traders called for strikes. These traders are the most pampered community of Pakistan. They enjoy a tax free life while importing the cheapest Chinese junk they can find. Government has now halved the tax rate till September to give these guys time to file their returns. What can the government do when the biggest sector of your economy is not willing to play fair?

For energy, I am sure you have read a million times that these projects take time. Government made this mistake of going for expensive fuel again (LNG); the same mistake PPP made in 90s to go for oil based plants. But other than that coal fired plants, small hydro (in KP and Punjab), small to medium wind (in Sindh mostly) are coming along nicely. If everything goes well, we'll be out of this mess by 2017, insha Allah.

And Eid mubarik :)
What reforms..?? There are noon, true I haven't read the news in few week, has something happened.. Eid Mubarak

Khair mubarik :)

Actually yes Dar and co have been working on some tax reforms (slowly). One key action they took was to introduce (increase) the withholding tax that Shaukat Aziz introduced to 0.6% of all banking transactions. Basically it forced non-filers to come in to the tax net if they wanted to save this money. Think about the millions of small, medium and large traders (retail, wholesale, importers etc) who didn't pay any tax on their business activities. The sales tax was for consumers, not the retailers etc. So this was a good move to increase the filers.

But the trader associations threatened with strikes against this tax. Dar reduced the amount to 0.3% till September to give them time to become filers. IMO, this is a good technique suited for our business culture.

Any data on how much Pakistan's electricity production increased last year?

If you saw our energy minister, you wouldn't expect a single digit to be honest. You know what his education and credentials are? He's Nawaz Sharif's daamaad, that's about it. He's the guy on the far right in the video:

Now even 4.5% may not even be achievable after devastating floods in Pakistan once again.

It is becoming imperative for us to do something on emergency basis in order to tackle with this deteriorating situation of floods everywhere.
