Alleged sectarian killings in Saudi Arabia prompt unity calls

Religious channels such as that one actively sow hate and sectarianism. It is watched by many hardliners and is actually revered by ISIS, not to mention that one of the channel's hosts actually clapped and talked about feeling great in the pictures of the victims of Al-Qaeda's suicide attack in Yemen.

That channel is a source of Evil and if it was up to me I would close it and bring everyone who ever worked in it, line them up and execute them and hang their bodies to rot for everyone to see.

I don't watch those channels. I only know about some of the individuals that attend those channels. Some are retards indeed. The point I am trying to make here is that people who are as radical as those that committed the crime this Monday (unprecedented in KSA history) are already far out of reach and radical material is much more fierce on the internet or even on other satellite channels not even based in KSA.

Religious channels should be permitted obviously but there should be clear guidelines and no lines should be crossed like the example that you gave which I also watched and which disgusted me too.

Don't tell me this "epidemic" has reached Saudia as well. Both Shias and Sunnis can go to heaven so I don't know what the problem is? Shias and Sunnis should work together. I don't understand why there is so much hatred.

Mostly the roots of the current conflicts in the Muslim world have little to do with any Sunni-Shia divide or Islam for that matter. Sectarianism is just used as a fuel. Yemen being a clear example of that currently. Something that initially had nothing to do with any sectarianism but political demands have now partially turned into sectarianism. It does not take more than a few retards to turn it into that direction.

What happened this Monday night was unprecedented in KSA history and has shocked many as this thread clearly shows. Most if not all suspects (we don't know it fully yet with 100% certainty) have been arrested and 2 of them were killed in a shot-out with the police in Buraidah. Two policemen died and have now become martyrs as well during that incident.

Anyway people are experts at finding differences and fighting against each other. Whether due to race, ideology, religion, power, resources or whatever. This has been the case since we appeared and will be the case until this earth is gone.

Meanwhile the Mexican cartels are causing havoc in Mexico at a much bigger extend than ISIS but we don't hear about that at all in the media outside of the Mexican and American one. Money and power involved there.

.
Those bastards who did this attack will do anything to see other countries in region in state of Yemen, Iraq and Syria. Hope all of them get arrested and punished severely.

May those who were killed by this blind terror attack rest in peace. Also heard one or two Saudi security guards were killed while chasing them. May the too rest in peace.

.
There are dozens of religious channels and I won't be surprised if those two channels will reappear again at some point.

There will not be any end to a "religious KSA" whatever that means. This incident has been made out to be bigger than it is. The work of a few extremists and very much unprecedented in KSA history.

KSA as the cradle of Islam and the seat of Makkah and Madinah will obviously be closely tied to Islam and so will the vast majority of its citizens just like for the past 1400 years. We can argue about the system all day and night but that's another thing altogether. That's the only reason why I objected to your "this is the end of a religious KSA" sentence.

There are no main reasons for our Shia lot to complain. The suspects have been caught and they will be punished.

More unfounded nonsense.
Yup!! KSA has the holy places of Islam this is the unfortunate part. Related to cradle of Islam lolz!!! Currently, no where near it and you are not alone, all Muslims countries are named Muslims, the spirit has long gone. Anyways it is tragedy and culprits should be brought to justice.

.
The fire of sectarianism that was started will consume everyone that had any part in its beginning.

Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh has slammed the terrorists who gunned down seven people this week, for trying to destabilize and divide the country.
“What happened in Al-Ahsa is an example of brutal aggression and a great injustice. This is carried out by sick minds seeking to incite fitna between people, God forbid,” he said.
He said these acts were being carried out by those who want “to open the door to sectarian conflict so that we kill and destroy each other,” he warned in a televised speech on Tuesday.
“We live in one state, secure and stable under a single government that brings us together,” the grand mufti said. He called on the government to punish those responsible in the harshest possible manner.
GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani said: “The attack violates the basic principles of Islam. It was aimed at causing division and sedition. However, the terrorists will not succeed in achieving their nefarious objectives.”
Police found the body of one of the attackers in Buraidah on Wednesday. It was not clear who killed him. This means that three terrorists have lost their lives. The other two were killed in a shootout in Shaqra on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers Wednesday of two security officers killed in the shootout with the terrorists.
Prayers for Capt. Muhammad Al-Enezi and Cpl. Turki Al-Rasheed were held in Hail and in Buraidah. They were slain during a raid on a terrorist hideout in Mahlmin district in north Hail on Tuesday.
The two officers were members of the Qassim Emergency Force that conducted the raid in connection with Monday’s shootout in Al-Ahsa, which saw masked gunmen kill seven people.
Interior Minister Prince Mohammed bin Naif called on the family of Al-Rasheed in Hail and conveyed the condolences of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman. He later visited Buraidah and offered condolences to the family of Al-Enezi.
Hail Gov. Prince Saud bin Abdul Muhsin joined the funeral prayers for Al-Rasheed on Wednesday afternoon. Prince Saud offered his condolences to the bereaved family and said that citizens should be proud of their loyal service to their country. Undersecretary at the prince’s office, Saad Al-Bogami, also attended the prayers.
Meanwhile, security sources said that investigators had arrested 20 people in connection with the Al-Ahsa attacks. One person was freed after being arrested on 12 counts of terror-related charges.
According to the sources, members of the public had helped the security agencies arrest the suspects. Some have been released on bail.
Eyewitnesses said police conducted a raid in the Rawabi district in Riyadh, in connection with the Al-Ahsa attack. After police cordoned off and secured roads in the district, they heard gunshots. It was not clear whether it was warning shots or an exchange of fire.
A high-level security source, quoted by Asharq Al-Awsat, a sister publication of Arab News, on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the media, said that some members of this “terrorist cell” had previously been arrested or convicted on terror-related charges.

انا لله وانا اليه راجعون

Judging from his surname and the place of his funeral he might very well be a Rashidi. A well-respected former dynasty.

I can add
that the funeral took place at the main mosque of Ha'il (Ar-Rajhi Mosque).

Religiois channels like Al-Wesal and Al-Eman were closed today, and so it begins, the beginning of the end of religious Saudi Arabia started yesterday.

My Opinion:
That's very good. I didn't know about Eman, but Wesal was scumbags channel.
Are these goons injecting sectarianism? yes
Was this killing related to sectarian goons? We don't know until that gunmen identity exposes, but probably yes.
Would religious Saudi Arabia replaces with a secular Saudi Arabia? I think it's too soon to say that, but it would definitely happen sooner or later.

Religious channels have nothing to do with the terrorists behind this act. People that far out don't need some channels as justification. The internet is a much more dangerous place and it is through that media that most people are lured into such actions and groups like ISIS. Also from the West.

Besides this incident is unprecedented in KSA history.

Regarding your last point then that is for the Saudi Arabian people to decide and whatever the form of governance in place Islam will obviously play a significant role as it has had for 1400 years and KSA is also the cradle of Islam and more closely tied to Islam and Islamic history than any other place.

Media has a great role in propaganda and brainwashing people. That's the core reason that many TV channels are created at the first place. I don't know about Eman, but Wesal was injecting extremism to people's brain, which is the basic step of making terrorists.

Hopefully, yes.

Of course it is up to your people, but I do believe that my prediction is true. The future of your country would tend to secularism.

Well, some people are more prone to accepting bullshit. Especially if they are from the lower classes (no disrespect) or have problems. Either academic, social, sometimes even sexual or whatever. Types like OBL that were born into enormous richness, that travelled across the world since childhood, had a privileged background etc. and still end up in some cave in Afghanistan are very rare nowadays.

OBL's family and some locals in Sweden (Falun) in 1971!. He is on that photo too;

Osama bin Laden dead: life and family in pictures - Telegraph

There is a clear pattern among the 2000 or so Saudi Arabian nationals that have travelled abroad for militancy. Those problems I mentioned above are often present, they are often young (16-25 years most commonly) and they are often lured under false premises and many want to return when they see the reality but are unable to or get killed before they can do such a thing. Still many have returned and frighteningly many were underage. The programs that Dawood al-Shirian hosts had such cases and they can also be found on Youtube.

As I see it is most of such people are ignorant, are going abroad because they hear of all kind of injustices (in their minds at least) but the reality is often totally different. Such people can be reformed.

Now the real bastards are the leadership of ISIS and some of those retard "clerics" found on the internet etc. who are speaking about Jihad but never doing it themselves.

I am all for closing Wesal but the other channels that deal with religion there is no reason to close that as they are good and not only deal with religion.

It's those 1-3 channels that are sometimes crossing the lines that need to be dealt with and those that finance them and are keeping them alive IMO.

Well, we cannot know what will follow but it's the first such attack of its kind in KSA. Generally there have been few terrorist attacks in KSA but the ones that took place involved AQAP/AQ and they almost always targeted police/army/SANG/Westerners/compounds/tourists etc. So that's why people were shocked about this news.

Well in terms of governance and certain rules then that has already taken place since 2005 but I was more referring to Islam as a personal thing among people. I very much doubt that people would suddenly leave Islam after 1400 years.

Most people in KSA are already Muslims like anywhere else in the world yet that does not stop them from having life's identical to non-Muslims outside of a few exceptions such as drinking alcohol, eating pork etc. which a few do nevertheless.

Incidents like these will speed up the phase out of clergy from Saudi politics. As nowadays an average Saudi has no interest in religion.

.
This attack is going to change Saudi Arabia as much as the 1979 grand mosque seizure did.

Right now religious channels were closed, clerics who have had a history of verbally attacking Shia some were arrested others were banned from talking in public.

The ulema council released a statement saying that this attack on the Shias is an attack on our Muslim brothers. Expect a 180 degrees change in KSA in regards to religious teachings because of this attack. I said it before and I will say it again, religious Saudi arabia is doomed to die, this was the last nail on their coffin.
Than you are looking at war on streets off Saudi Arabia most disastrous and deadly war

This maybe a horrible thing to wish for, but sometimes I really do wish for a war to cleanse Saudi Arabia from religious fanaticism filth once and for all. But wither they like it or not the grip of religious fanaticism dies by education, and Saudis are being educated very well recently, and this will lead to their death sooner or later.
