Why the GOP has not expelled ambassador of threatening country yet? This would send strong message to that country for poking nose in internal politics to change regime illegally. Pakistan PM may elevate his stature domestically and internationally by taking this course of action. and possibly put masters and puppets of Vote of no confidence on back foot..

I personally am myself double minded over this, on one side i am glad that someone had balls to finally do this and on the other hand i think we should not totally screw our relations with west like this

There is no diplomatic way of saying "Absolutely not, we will not fight your wars for you".

If Imran Khan had been less than crystal clear, the corrupt media would have called him weak and suggested he was making a deal behind the scenes without telling the people.

Strong leaders make strong statements. Pakistan is not used to having strong leaders so it is understandable that some people are confused.

I think the letter itself isn't really such a big deal. The contents of this letter can be traced back to many other times during the lows in the Pakistani-US relations when the USG wasn't getting its way with Pakistan thus the freeze and even talk of sanctions/threats to the Pakistan government of the day.

The fact that Pakistan is close to China and yet trying to stay neutral (the visit to Russia on the day of the Ukraine invasion, although not a fault of the GoP), would be net negatives for the US side and thus the predictable pressure. I am reading it now but in my mind, I was already under the assumption that things were worse than the normal cold in Pak-US relations (case in point US approval for Phillipines to buy Turkish T-129s but refusing the same for Pakistan which is an MNNA.)

IK and PTI should focus on getting own party members and coalition partners back on the roster. Going after a supposed conspiracy theory may make for good public theater, but it won't help with getting the party supporters from voting in the NCV. I think IK/PTI should drop the letter story and focus on getting the estranged members back in line to defeat the NCV.

The more this letter is talked up and credence given to some "American Plan" to oust the government, the quicker the lotay will switch sides thinking IK is going down since Uncle Sam is in the mix. I think this letter is a self-defeating, own goal by the PTI.

Just a little correction. It has been confirmed by multiple ministers including SMQ that the letter is an official communique by another government to the FO, and not an analysis or feedback from current or retired ambassadors or embassy officials.
