All patriotic Indians will reject such a subordinate role to US imperialism : CPM

Ignoring the message itself, the deal really is bad for India.

It is unlikely that India would ever use US bases, at least not for the next few decades, while the US not only immediately gets to use Indian bases, but use it to keep its current strategic interests going in the region. The main benefactor here is the US; India got a really bad deal.

No I think India needs to use bases on US soil in order to fight with Canada and Mexico. :P

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the signing of the Logistics Support Agreement between the United States and India which will allow the American armed forces to access and use Indian military bases.

The Logistics agreement termed as the Logistic Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) has been signed in Washington during the visit of Defence Minister Manohar Parikkar.
By signing such an agreement, India has acquired the formal status of a military ally of the US. Under this agreement the US airforce and navy can use Indian naval and air bases for logistics support, refueling and services on a regular basis. The US armed forces can utilise Indian military bases while conducting military operations in third countries.

The Modi government has compromised on Indian sovereignty and surrendered its strategic autonomy by signing such an agreement with the most powerful imperialist country in the world.

All patriotic Indians will reject such a subordinate role to US imperialism.

Has India got into NSG? Has India got Security Council seat? Has US eased H1B process towards India ? How is a common Indian going to benefit from this?
I dont understand what has happened to Modi's government. Either they are under lots of pressure to align themselves with US due to china's haegomony or they are just in haste.

hyperbole, our chinese frnd wont certainly go away that easily. would not respond to other posts anyway.

And you get marked a troll in the process. What do you gain? Loss of credibility? Do you feel incompetent to counter them? Tag in if you feel so, but try not to derail a thread. Your quip merely potentiates the propaganda as 2 million will now be quoted by fifty idiots more. That is how 700,000 troops is going. Because indian idiots go on net, take a figure and use it in their thesis/write ups. Then it becomes Indian themselves concede.

That is why I asked, do you think a thing through before posting?

I am looking Indian soil as battle field.Allah khayr karay.

You need to read the fine print of the deal before making such sweeping statements. US can use bases only with India's permission which will certainly not come easily or not at all. This deal will only help in sharing info about chinese activities.

LOL no, Indians here are cheering the fact that they have sold their sovereignty to US military troops. :P

They will make a thousand excuses as to why it's a good thing that the US armed forces can now operate out of Indian bases on Indian soil.

Don think India need CHINI view in any of the Indian's internal matter... anyway...After 1962 Indian point of view is totally changed about china... And day by day it is changing more and more....Mao's point of view Enemy's ENEMY is FRIEND is going to cost you heavily....Due to this ideology today you are standing with a terrorist...

Ordinary indian gets ordinary treatment nothing new in that. US-India agreements are like we dont harm each other not benefit each other. US will not treat India like SK or Japan wrt economy but there will be pressure on India to do so.

Don't you remember, all the Indians here were mocking Pakistan for "selling their country" to the USA?

Yet Pakistan never signed the LEMOA?

I do agree that Indian Communists are stupid and traitors to their motherland, but in this issue they are right for once. Allowing US military troops to operate out of Indian soil, just think about what you would say if China did that?

And it gave its military base to US, first to attack Afghanistan, then to bombard its own people. For Pakistan, US does not require LEMOA, treaties ate not signed with vassal states. I think there is no such treaty with China and Pakistan, but still Chinese navy can use Pakistani naval basses.
