The news hasn't highlighted the cause of dispute i.e. the constitutional requirements of SC's audit. Legally AGP office is responsible to conduct the audit of SCP on regular basis. But I do believe that there isn't much harm if such a move is made. However, such a move may set up a precedent for future where politicians may be able to exploit.

Even Riaz Thaikaydar himself admitted that CJ had never given him any favor in any of the cases with him being handing over the money to Arsalan. Even the verdict on the case asked government bodies to launch an enquiry into the case which she didn't not because of Arsalan but because of Riaz Thaykaydar. Riaz's case was suicidal, He himself admitted at trying to influence the judiciary. So his conviction was confirmed anyway it was Arsalan's matter which was subjected to investigation. Even Riaz didn't pursue the case further himself nor did the government. So where does the question of CJ being corrupt pops up?

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tuesday decided to send a reference to parliament against the Supreme Court registrar for not appearing before the committee despite being summoned repeatedly.

The PAC had summoned SC registrar Dr Faqir Hussain to appear before it on Friday for the settlement of court’s accounts. The committee had asked for details about the apex court’s administrative expenditures through its registrar.

However, the registrar snubbed the PAC, refusing to appear before it and questioning how the parliamentary committee lacked constitutional support to summon him.

Following Friday’s absence of the registrar from the committee session, the PAC had given him until Dec 18 (today) to personally appear before it for what it believes is mandatory settlement of the SC’s accounts.

“It’s naked contempt of the parliament. The Supreme Court registrar has breached the privilege of the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly. We have patiently waited for four-and-a-half years and now it’s time to act,” Chairman of the PAC, Nadeem Afzal Gondal, had said on Friday.

In a veiled warning, Gondal said despite having the power, the committee had acted cautiously so far and the registrar should try to understand “sensitivity of the matter”.

However, the SC registrar stood firm by his stance even on Tuesday, refusing to appear before the parliamentary committee.

Tuesday’s session of the PAC unanimously decided to send a reference against the Supreme Court registrar to the parliament.

The chairman said that decision of sending the reference against the SC registrar has been taken with consensus. It is up to the parliament either to send the reference to the Supreme Court or amend the law, he added.

While hurling fiery allegations at Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Faisal Raza Abidi on Sunday demanded a resignation from him and other judges who were reinstated under the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO).
During a press conference in Islamabad, Abidi held Justice Chaudhry responsible for the alleged financial impropriety done by his son, Dr Arsalan Iftikhar.
The senator said that if the chief justice does not tender a resignation, then he will “force him out from the same way he had been restored as a judge.”
“He [Justice Chaudhry] says that he did not have any idea where his son got all that money from…I ask, when the case emerged, did you ask him where he got Rs900 million from?”
The senator produced bank account statements of Dr Arsalan and said that the person who used to “work under somebody else” now owns billions of rupees. He also showed that the billing address mentioned was that of the Chief Justice House in Islamabad.
“You [Justice Chaudhry] are to be blamed for this. This happened right in front of you. You cannot pretend to not know anything. Who gave Dr Arsalan the right to use government’s property for running his own businesses? Could he not rent out an office in some other area?”
He said that he would now “personally” investigate about Dr Arsalan’s assets and will also fly to Dubai and London to inquire about his international bank accounts. “I will probe into the accounts he has activated under the name of mamu.”
Abidi said that the Parliament is supreme and is above other institutions.
“Parliament forms laws and constitutions. Who gave you the right to criticise and meddle in its affairs?”
“I accept your challenge in the war you have waged against the parliament. But mine is not a war of arms, but is a war of words, because Pakistan cannot afford agitation at this moment as it is already going through tough times.”

again as I asked in my last post, where is he now? PPP unleashed its first PAWN (Zulfi) on MQM, Second (Riaz Thakaydar) on CJP which failed misrably. They again launched their third pawn (Faisal) again. BUT WHERE IS HE NOW? WHY HAS HE DISAPPEARED LIKE The first two? WHY DIDN'T he come forward by making the so called evidences public?
