These buses look ugly, bd shoud take some more credit and but top quality and good looking buses from other Indian companies.

If these buses proved themselves good for Dhaka streets, if the seats and riding are comfortable, if they do not gulp too much of fuel, then it is okay. The average import price is around 66 lakh Taka. What better should we expect with this low price? Ashok Leyland will do itself a service if it assembles different types of buses in Bangladesh. There is a big market here, but has remained suppressed because of unavailability. Only a 290 units of buses are a pittance for Dhaka.

Conditions should be favourable first to open an assembly plant or other ancilliary industries.. Who knows tomorrow if BKZ comes to power, the plant might as well be shut off and company told to close their operations !!!

No, no. There are certain rules to guide foreign investments in Bangladesh. A new administration will have little leverage on an already established FDI project. Moreover, no party ever does this in any country because the country itself loses credibility as a destination of investment.
