Algeria has acquired and deployed anew Russian over the horizon radar, Rezonans-NE, which gives the Algerian Air Defense Forces the capability of long range monitoring, especially the centralization and control of data collected from the various radar and electronic equipment of the air defense arm of the region.

The technical details about this radar are few, but we will summarize this in some basic characteristics of the radar.
In order to maintain a state of readiness in times of war and constant observation of airspace in a state of peace, modern radars should respond to specific requirements:

• Large radar coverage area.
• The ability to detect and track various air targets, from small-sized drones to ballistic objects
• Provides continuous operational capability to monitor airspace at various altitudes.
• Longer uptime and data reliability (Piracy and interference resistance).
• Ability to distinguish between targets and prioritize their classification.
