Alert :Russia cuts number of T-50s ordered to one squadron

Russians do seem to be taking India for a ride. Extreme caution is required before committing significant capital for acquiring these jets.

Better option would be to induct more Rafales and go all out in developing Tejas which has turned out to be a humiliating experience for us.

If Tejas doesn't work out then its advisable to shelf the AMCA dream and hitch our ride to Americans. In this case we can induct more Rafales to carry IAF through and wait for F-35 platform to fully mature and next tranches to come out.

My dream wishlist would be:

6 Squadrons of Rafales
20 squadrons of SU 30-MKI
10 Squadrons of F-35s

Unfortunately this is totally unachievable, due to budgetary constraints.

Could be, but I am still cagey about ordering them. The Russians haven't been quite forthcoming with us regarding the issues plaguing the development. Stealth which is the chief attraction is still unproven. Engines aren't there yet. We are supposed to be partners and hence all information must be accessible but this is not the case.

Taking into consideration, how the cost per unit will go through the roof.
won't have much change.. because india providing money for its development. it is a JV. the developmental cost is 50:50 manner. so the cost of the plane will be the same as the RuAF have to pay for each plane. and it is 100% sure that there will be other international customers for PAK FA/FGFA. and the Russians can increase the order as their economy develops, they can't simply ignore the 5th gen fighter jets as USAF is introducing 2000 F-35s. so they needs to maintain the balance. and there is no other 5TH gen FA in the horizon as an alternative for PAK FA in RuAF.

So what's next for the T-50 project? I meant to say that they came so far with the project that scraping it is impossible. What are their options?
1 Let the India take over?
2 Add the third party?
3 Share the tech with China?

Thank you!
So many people think this means russia is hurting but the intial number will remain the same at the end, trolls on sputnik in particular repeat this line.
So far the T-50 isn't even at half the cost of the F-22 and F-35 and the pentagon even admitted it would be a better jet.
