Alarm bells ringing at PML (N), PPP HQs
Major developments on political scene after Eidul Azha
Liaqat Toor

Islamabad—PTI Chief Imran Khan’s successful public meeting in Lahore has sent tremors to rank and file of political forces, particularly the two major political parties—PPP and PMl (N) as major developments are likely to take place after Eidul Azha in respect of re-alignment of political forces and possible joining of PTI by some ‘disgruntled groups’ of PPP and PML (N).

The emotionally charged huge public meeting at Minar-i-Pakistan, even beyond imagination of Imran Khan has changed the political landscape as according to sources, sitting MNAs, MPAs and former ministers are in touch with Imran Khan for their possible joining PTI, a third emerging force.

A third option is available to the people now who are not satisfied with the performance of governments in the centre and the provinces, sources in two major political parties said and added alarm bells are ringing at headquarters of PPP and PML (N) equally as PTI’s threat to launch civil disobedience movement and blocking of cities with the support of public in case politicians do not declare their real assets in next couple of months, has been given serious thought.

Closed groups in both the political parties have discussed the consequences of such threat as they have come to the conclusion that PTI has reached such a popularity point where it is capable to launch such movement with the support of youngsters, sources in both the parties revealed to this scribe.

Former Minister Jehangir Tarin, who has claimed to enjoy support of fifty ‘electables’ is also in touch with Imran Khan. Dramatic changes are in the offing, PTI sources claimed.

Imran Khan has also confirmed on Saturday that sitting MNAs of political parties, besides political workers have approached him for their possible joining his party. The people will listen “good news” after Eidul Azha, he said.

The enrolment drive by PTI has also speeded up after the public meeting as thousands of youngsters have become members of the emerging force via messaging, PTI sources said.

I think PPP is not as scared as PMLN. PPP's vote bank may be eroded but they still have solid pockets Sindh and south Punjab with very significant vote bank in almost all of Punjab where they can benefit from the non-PPP vote split.
We may still see a PPP-coalition govt. at the center, Sindh, K-P and even Punjab because of the split.
