Koi sharam hai tum logon men, just keep on pulling history outta ur arse's as u go dont u, the world nor the accepted literary facts give a flying **** what fantasies inferiority complex ridden indians come up with in gao shalas to live with themselves after bieng subjugated by muslims for a thousand years. The simple fact is, u hindus have always been an inferior and nothing culture , always ruled over by other far superior ones through out history. I dont consider u people fit to wash my dogs. Little degenarate slaves of my anscestors. Bloody shameless subhuman gits.

India a term coined by British, used by modern day Indians to take credit from local people/inhabitants. This is all I know.

Since when Greeks used this term?

Well the Greek used to call india as ... " Indikē ".

Greek historian who was a diplomat in court of Chandra Gupt Maurya wrote his travel account in the book called . Indica/Indika

I went to Madrasa...Now I want to rule whole India just like King Ourangzeb...:D Madrassa people rule India.
lets have that discussion after you publish your article in new scientist or national geographic.

Other than ashoka no one has ruled over the entire India. mughals ruled only in northern parts and even aurangazeb had failed to conquer southern India. Marathas kicked aurangazeb in his *** and he spent 26 years of life fighting them.

LOL half Central Asian and half Rajput Mughal Aurangzeb .

Did Any Punjabi Muslim ever ruled in any part of regions in today's Pakistan forget outside Punjab ??:-):-):-)

Now some smart guy is gonna say "India" meant only the northern area.

Here's a passage by Pliny of 1st century. (Translated to English obviously). He's talking about Kerala and Tamil Naad, the southern most area. And yet, he says "if you wanna go to India".
(Sumerian records mention that they had trade relations with Kerala in 3000 B.C.)

To those who are bound for India, Ocelis (On the Red Sea) is the best place for embarkation. If the wind, called Hippalus (Southwest Monsoon), happens to be blowing it is possible to arrive in forty days at the nearest market in India, "Muziris" by name. This, however, is not a very desirable place for disembarkation, on account of the pirates which frequent its vicinity, where they occupy a place called Nitrias; nor, in fact, is it very rich in articles of merchandise. Besides, the road stead for shipping is a considerable distance from the shore, and the cargoes have to be conveyed in boats, either for loading or discharging. At the moment that I am writing these pages, the name of the king of this place is Caelobothras (Keralaputras). Another port, and a much more convenient one, is that which lies in the territory of the people called Neacyndi, Bacare (Puhar) by name. Here king Pandion (Pandya) used to reign, dwelling at a considerable distance from the market in the interior, at a city known as Modiera (Madurai). The district from which pepper is carried down to Barace in boats hollowed out of a single tree is known as Cottonara (Kuttanadu).

Punjabi Muslims, as far as I know, may not rule large areas but they were instrumental in conquering those areas. They were inducted in armies.

I am not Punjabi...I am descendant of immigrants (migrated from India to Pakistan in 1947 and afterwards). I live in Karachi, Sindh.

I am ethnically Yousafzai Pashtun. :P

Actually, Al Khwarizmi was a Tamil Hindu when he invented Algebra.. later converted to Muslim.
