SRINAGAR: Security forces on Saturday arrested a militant of al-Badr outfit from Sopore area of Baramulla district in Kashmir, police said.

"Police with the assistance of 52 RR (Army), apprehended a militant of al-Badr outfit, thus preventing from a major subversion plan of the terrorists," a police spokesman said.

He said the militant has been identified as Irfan Ahmad Bhat alias Irra, a resident of Panzipora-Tarzoo in Sopore.

A pistol and a magazine was recovered from Irfan's possession, he said.

"The local boy was motivated and recruited into the al-Badr outfit by al-Badr district commander Muzaffar Ahmad Naikoo alias Muz Molvi with a view to build a network of al-Badr operatives for the execution of various terrorist actions in and around Sopore," the spokesman said.

After being indoctrinated with "Jihadi ideology" and positioned into the militant outfit, Irfan was assigned with various tasks of couriering the weapons and money, identifying the targets vis-a-vis security installations and carry out the grenade attacks on VIP rallies, police and security forces on the directions of Molvi, the spokesman said.

"The involvement of the said militant in other actions of terrorism and subversive actions is being investigated," he added.

One man's freedom fighter is another's terrorist.
I don't freedom fighters kill the people they are supposed to be fighting for.Al Qaeda and its affiliates have their fair share of Kashmiri people's blood on their hands.

Then shouldn't the US Army be considered a terrorist organization along with the whole of NATO. They do too kill civilians (they promised to protect Afghan people but bomb them with drones). Casualties happen at times of war and the Indian government are oppressing the people of Kashmir. They don't want to be part of India but Indians don't want to accept that.

An overused, thought terminating cliche.

Terrorism is quite simple to define - the use of violence and intimidation of civilians and non combatants, for a political purpose.

A freedom fighter becomes a terrorist if and only if s/he resorts to terror tactics.

I don't know how long these silly and superficial one liners will be peddled, to feign ignorance about reality.

Don't engage them, they are too busy blaming RAW for all their problems.

Kashmir is a part of our country and we will take whatever steps we have to to protect it. These "Freedom Fighters" are religious zealots who believe in a medieval ideology, and there is only one way to deal with such people...

Of course consider US Army a tyrant. You possess the right to form an opinion and you should exercise that right.
But remember at the end of the day, only the victors write the history.US will be remembered as the force fight against tyranny and radicalism and Taliban will be remembered as cave dwelling savages.

Being Indian is not a matter of feeling. If you are a citizen of India, you are an Indian, no matter what your personal feelings are. If I start "feeling Bangladeshi" tomorrow, that won't make me a Bangladeshi.

And BTW, exactly who are you to psychoanalize and speak for Kashmiris?

Have you been there?? How do you claim to speak for them. The ones who dont feel part of the country can wail, cry and wallow in self pity, not a single fk will be given for them :coffee: (as long as they don't start killing people, then we just dig some graves)

Correct.. India will provide the freedom fighters of CHT all the necessary help to liberate themselves from Bengali oppressors.
And Bangladesh will assist Rohingas and ULFA in their fight into freeing Assam and Rakhine State and a possible future Bangladesh expansion. Also those CHT chukmas reside by the hills, don't have much to do with the city.

If all you Indians think Kashmir wants to be part of India, why not let them vote, after all isn't India a democracy. And no, Bangladesh isn't a democracy, we are Hasniacracy (all decisions must benefit the Supreme Empirical leader Hasina).

CHT tribals will lead a glorious revolution against the oppressive Bengali presence.
