Ghanta benefitted. The Opposition milked the attack and in 5 years the Central and State govts. were both out of power. Immediately after the attack, the Chief Minister lost his job. Peace talks stalled and have been in stalled since. So the ones who benefitted were the segment in Pak which did not want peace.
