Air Showdown NATO jet harassing Russian plane carrying minsiter

.

the Hornet comes close to Russian plane carrying the Russian minister and then backs off as an SU30 comes in focus forcing it away.
maybe somewhere over Europe airspace or the Caspian sea I am not sure.

its only a guess what the NATO pilot was hoping to achieve from this but for sure he didn't act alone and must have been directed to intercept and harass the plane
if the Russian minister didn't have his own Russian escort then the NATO Jet would've played a little bit more making the flight uncomfortable before moving away.
its all part of show boating and saber rattling between the Americans and the Russians

what is not clear is where this has happened.

I don't think that is US Navy jet. It's market suggest it is a Spanish FA-18.

The Spanish have nose marking 12-34, the one in the video shown 12-26, US Navy and Marine F-18 have 3 digit nose code.

12-26 belong to Wing 12, which stationed in Central Spain at Torrejon Airbase near Madrid, so I would guess the Russian plane have to come very close to continental Spain to have Wing 12 response.

Why the knee jerk assumption that this is a US fighter? Just because it is an F-18? No on bothered to see how many Western air forces flies F-18? According to the latest news, this event happened over the Baltic, no one bothered to see where the Baltic Sea is? No one bothered to find out how often Soviet/Russian bombers tested US/NATO airspace? What happened to basic research?

it was more of a gossip thread that NATO jet came too close to a Russian passenger plane and later on backed away when a Russian military jet also appeared on the scene
where it happened what was the jet model , whether it was a minister or his Mistress in the plane whether it was Hornet or Super Hornet (I still cant tell) whether the pilot had a full continental breakfast or not and where abouts this happened is just details which can be discussed and wont be missed if we dont but good to know

In this case the aircraft dispatched to intercept and shadow the aircraft is a Spanish Air Force EF-18, one of the 5 jets currently deployed to Siauliai Air Base, Lithuania, for BAP mission.

The Russian aircraft operate with no FPL, on-board transponders off, and usually do not maintain radio contact with the local air traffic control agencies and for this reason they are identified and escorted by NATO aircraft based in Lithuania and Estonia.
