I strongly doubt any further misadventures will take place before the elections, especially since the world heaped praise on IK AND GOP for de-escalating the entire conflict and showing proper restraint. Especially there would be no strike on a military installation given that would ve a blatant act of war. Many of their own senior defense analysts are saying India doesn't have the means and hence no political will to escalate the situation because it is not assured dominance and will suffer heavy losses. So i dont think there is value in rushing tondo anything hasty.
We have to remember that if PAF buys something tomorrow, doesnt mean it will be ready tomorrow. It will take 4-5 years for delivery, training and induction. Furthermore it will take at least 5 years beyond that to have a meaningful knowledge of the aircraft. It is not a quick process. To that end, i think it is not the right move for Pakistan to follow suit with India and buy expensive 4th gen fighters beyond the JF-17. I dont believe that J-10 brings enough to the table that is different from the JF-17 to spend tremendous capital on it to induct it, BUT i would advocate training the pilots of a few Mirage squadrons on the J-10 in china so that in the event of hostilities you can work a hot transfer with china and acquire 2-3 sqn of used J-10B/C in short order. In the interim i would dedicate my attention to a 5th gen fighter and further development of the JF-17 (perhaps targeting an upsized variant for block 4 which utilizes more tech from J-20 like radar and EOD/EOTS ect). I DOUBT tge PAF can afford typhoon in meaningful numbers but definitely it will be a match for Rafale and F-21. IF India reniggs completely on Rafale, i would maybe target 2 sqnd for more political reasons as well as the fact that it is likely superior to the F-21 in most respects.
