This report carries credence and merits further discussion. The Airbus in question, one of the safest pax carriers just does not fly into mountains whatever the wx conditions.

The investigating bodies of the Airbus Industrie may know the truth of what really happened but will be constrained to openly declare such for the simple reason that Pak and its Govt is in a precarious position and any more of blame gaming may prove to be the last straw. So obviously the imperatives of Geo-politics take precedence over truth.

The construct as it stands clearly of this case is, if the Aicraft had strayed into secure no-fly zone of Islamabad, the capital city - Pak security jittery as it is, will shoot it down and ask questions later.

Now is the time for everyone to ask Questions.

This claim is pure bullshit. Even if it had entered secured airspace, SoP clearly states that jets will be scrambled to intercept the aircraft and force it to land, even if it is an enemy plane. Even if it is decided that the plane has to be shot down, it cannot be done through anti-aircraft guns, these guns are classified in the first tier of air defence, extremely unreliable and short ranged, it can only shoot down helicopters that too at low altitude, sustained flight. Therefore, flight ED-202 cannot have been shot down with AA guns, I personally find it offending to see that people can even bother reading bullshit that states that a passenger plane was shot down by ourselves for intruding into our own airspace.

And you are familiar with our SoPs how ?
If you recall, IA flight 814 continued to fly over Pakistan for quite some time without consent, why wasn't it shot down ?
We are humans like you, we don't feel joy in shooting down passenger liners filled with random people, especially if those people are our own. So please don't speak in matters you know nothing about.

As is reported it was a bad weather possibly stormy - in which case how much of gunfire can be heard above the din of the storm.

I believe it was the weather, Khatmandu is the world's most difficult place to land in followed by Islamabad because of the unstable air currents, uncertain weather, dangerous cross winds and the margalla hills.
