Seoul (AFP) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, who has not been seen for nearly a month due to apparent health problems, sent a congratulatory message to China on its national day Wednesday, state media said.

Kim was last seen in public on September 3. A rare admission from North Korea that he was suffering "discomfort" has triggered frenzied speculation about his health and close scrutiny of any mention of the young leader in state media.

The three-paragraph message sent to Chinese President Xi Jinping marked the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

Kim voiced his hopes for China's future prosperity and the happiness of the Chinese people, KCNA said.

Kim took over the reins of power in North Korea following the death of his father Kim Jong-Il in December 2011.

He sent similar national day messages to the Chinese head of state in 2012 and 2013.

Recent state TV footage of Kim had shown him looking overweight and walking with a pronounced limp, which some analysts took to be a symptom of chronic gout.

Rumours about his health multiplied after Kim failed to attend a meeting of the North's rubber-stamp parliament last week.

Few days back there was a funny report on his long absence from the eyes of rest of the world. It said he wants to die like his grand father who is still deeply respected and revered in NK. Hence, he never thought of losing weight even if it endangered his life.

China wins medals in sports which hardly anyone plays - the 3 or 4 most popular sports in the world are Soccer, Cricket, Tennis, Golf. Barring one Li Na, their achievements are laughable. But they sure can jump up and down on a trampoline.

Once more you write stupidity. North Korea has a highly restricted Internet connection for their computers and cell phones. You seem to have problems with understanding the fact that the world is not completely black and white. It's more complex than that.

Cricket is unpopular around the world. Tennis is similar to badminton and table tennis, the difference being power versus speed. Golf is a wimpy sport, which is why it's popular with old men and retired workers. Soccer is most popular throughout the world, but it's relatively unpopular in America and China. I don't like the boredom of soccer at all. Even then, China's soccer team easily outranks India's soccer team on FIFA.

In my opinion, the combination of cricket, tennis, golf, and soccer are inferior to any one of these sports: Olympic weightlifting, boxing, taekwondo, judo, wrestling, shooting, gymnastics, swimming, archery, rowing, and fencing. In these superior sports, China has vastly more Olympic medals and much better Olympic ranking than India.

However, mankind's greatest strength is not his body, but his mind. A man's intelligence is what allows him to dominate this planet. When it comes to accomplishments with the mind, such as technology, strategy, tactics, politics, economics, fashion, art, justice, and so forth, China easily surpasses India.
