Out of every 10 middle and upper class young Iranians, at least half of them don't even call themselves muslims and the other half who do, are nothing but statistical muslims, incuding you yourself most likely. Only "pain shahr" people and older gen are actually practicing muslims.

Kollang and S00R3NA, do you guys pray? Go to mosque? I will gurantee that at least one of you drinks and you probably both have girl friends and have sex as well. You're part of that half that call yourselves muslims but in reality you're just "statistical muslims" and nothing more.

Iran has the lowest mosque attendance in all the Islamic world at 1.4%!! Only 30% of the people in Iran even pray at home (I highly doubt that this is true and it should be even lower. Those 30% probably got scared and answered yes in the survey).

I'm young and a university student where I can see people have your idea . Going to mosque doesn't mean some one is Muslim , I'm Muslim and I pray at home whenever I can , not as a constraint or for being afraid of hell and etc some extremists believe .

Where I live there are around 30 university students have come Tehran from other cities . most of them are Muslim , so stop lying here .

You say half of the Iranian youth are not Muslims but Its a big big lie . You should say half of the Youth who's living in Tehran specially up town . I respect them and their beliefs .

You need to take a look on Iranian youth during muharram to see the truth . I also have lots of friends don't pray and don't go to the mosque but believe in Islam .

Most of western liberal and secular people think Islam has sent Muslim countries behind but go and read Quran and what the prophet said and have a look on Muslim leaders like prophet and Imam Ali .

Or compare the liberty in universities 15 years ago with today .

They force our men to have certain haircuts and dress modestly and they force our women to wear the chador in certain places and at minimum cover their hair and wear modest clothing everywhere else. They force their stupid shria laws on people and also enforce it through the police. They ban alcohol. Our taxes and oil money is wasted on policing these idiotic barbaric laws.

Again, if they thought people would follow these barbaric 6th century laws on their own, they wouldn't force them and make them laws.

That black cloth on their head is called "roosari" or "maghnae." They have to cover their head. Over the years women have loosened it up more and more and now the monkeys in power just force people to have it on your had, even if some hair is showing. They're also wearing coats b/c they're not allowed to show the shape of your body. unmarried men and women aren't allowed to hold hands. Premarital sex is banned. Alcohol is banned. Mingling with the other gender before marriage is banned. You can't have relationship of any sort with the opposite sex before marriage. Iranian women aren't allowed to enter soccer stadiums while foreign women are allowed. I can give you a list that goes on and on. These are the good stuff actually. I can give you some stuff that would make your ears pop.

my point is that , They're forced but when you compare them with 15 years ago , you'll get the differences .

First thing they do when they land in a Western country is they start calling themselves Moe ( Short for Muhammad ) . I have met more Iranian Moe's than American Moe's. Every second Iranian with first name Muhammad is Moe in the US, or they will pick up names as David or John or Peter etc. My question to them is what is wrong with the name your Parents choose for you. Fake people and they think Americans would respect them more if they take on Amercan names but the opposite is true. American people laugh at them behind their backs.

My advice to these jokers is be proud of who you are. Be Iranians because you have a very rich culture and Historical past. Don't try to be someone who you are not.

1.All the divine religions have come for the whole world not just a special race . Quran Verse prove that .

2.I think most people support the Islamic system here ( not the current government ) and the only reason they haven't stopped supporting the system is their belief in Islam . Islamic Republic is the best possible system for Iran right now , cos If any other system comes , That will be a toy in the super power hands specially the US that dreaming for It . Most people were uneducated before the revolution but lets have a look on our educated youth and compare them with any other country you want .
