Leonardo Announces A New Order From Pakistan For The AW139
Apr 16, 2018

Leonardo announced today that the Government of Pakistan will introduce into service an undisclosed number of additional AW139 intermediate twin engine helicopters. The aircraft will be used to perform utility, passenger transport and emergency medical service operations across the nation. The helicopters will be delivered in early 2019.

This latest fleet expansion is a further step towards the completion of a fleet renewal programme spread over several batches and highlights the success of the AW139. Leonardo is also delivering logistic support and training services for the growing fleet of AW139s in Pakistan. A significant number of AW139s are already in service in Pakistan, coming from the orders signed in 2016 and 2017, with several operated by the Pakistan Government for EMS/SAR, relief and transport duties. The AW139 is the perfect fit to Pakistan’s challenging operational environment, delivering outstanding capabilities and hot & high performance unmatched by any other helicopter type in the same class.

We know AW139s replacing Alouette 3 SAR for PAF, which helicopter are they replacing for PA?

.
How many do we have in army and airforce up to now?

Any idea about expected numbers.

Alouette 3 is/was used by all three services.

If we can identify the number of Alouette 3 still in service, then we could identify future required numbers.

Finally! A decent camouflage choice for PA helicopters  Why couldn't this same scheme be adopted for the mi-35s

At one time paa and paf were looking at medium lift common platform I think it was mi-17 now this may be another common platform with all weather and day and night capability
Not sure if there is naval version but according to Oem all variants has base platform with add on capabilities added to conform to client requirements over 900 plus ordered so far a success story world wide

Paf order 14 plus 5-9 were already with paa /ems and vvip use so currently total would be above 20

Puma super puma are larger platform can carry full combat ready 20 or 20 plus troops vs 8 max for aw139

I know the PAF completed its order of 14 aircraft, but I wasn't aware that the Army has also proceeded with an order (beyond the 1 or 2 for leadership). PAC did say they're setting-up a d-level MRO plant for the AW139 (via Aviation Week), so I guess that was a sign of a bigger commitment.
