After Statue of Unity, India to get world’s tallest Shiva Murti

.
Obviously Vishnu.

Garuda is the vahana of Vishnu. i.e Mount.

I know, but in popular culture in Indonesia, Garuda is more widely known.
Their airline, for example is named after Garuda. Here in The Netherlands, some Indonesian restaurants also have Garuda in their name.

Possibly because of islamic influence that seeks to wipe out any god except "allah".

Garuda being a bird escaped this censure.

But if you end up building a statue to Garuda , it just looks stupid.

Though Indonesia does have some Amazing Arjuna Krishna statues from the Mahabharat war.

Sorry but then you will not be there to see if actually materialized or not.
Till the date the issue is lingering around kashmir and terrorism, people are talking about peace.
They day Pakistan decides to make it religious war. Tandav is not to far to be seen.

So lets learn and work towards respecting individuals and there religious beliefs.
Religion was made for peace and some people turned it made it reasons for war.

Well, I think it has more to do to with a different interpretation of Hinduism.

For example, Indonesians in The Netherlands' do not talk about 'Ramayana' but 'Ramakien'.

So, maybe in their interpretation of Hinduism, Garuda has a more prominent role.

.
I am sorry but this I dont get...Why would people come to see a "modern" statue?

I thought some Hindus claim they dont pray to the statue but use it as a means....so why need massive statues? What purpose do they serve? -An honest question....And why must it have records like worlds tallest?
I don't know the answer to your first question. It's hard to generalize, the statue of unity gets a lot of visitors. Besides this is not really public money that goes into building it.

All Hindus close their eyes and pray, so why put a statue? Because it helps to concentrate to a point. God is not the statue, god is everywhere and in everything. The reason why Hindus (and Indians in general), use the term Namasthe which translates to I bow to thee that means I bow to the god in you.

The third part, why worlds biggest, that's obviously for PR.

Every one knows which country is known for hypocrisy in name of religion and its practices.
Gangadesh

What's the obsession with size and mesurements in India these days?
Bigest this, talles that. Where does it stop. :meeting:
Well, it is obsession with they they don't have like fair skin color so whitening creams are a big business and also Gangadeshis do not measure up so they build tallest idols (which will eventually be bulldozed on them)

.
They should follow example of all other parties. They should have spend all this money on granting freebies to our special community. Hajj subsidy. Free scholarship schemes. Government money to fund maulvis and sponsor marriages of miyas. They need special help to look after their 40 children.

Ramayana means "Rama + Ayanam" i.e "The path that Ram walked" or "The journey of Ram" (Life journey or Adventures of Ram) in Sanskrit.

Ramakien - means "Glory of Rama" in bhasha.

Its the same thing , just in a different language.

I know its the same, but I was trying to illustrate that Indonesians have a different approach to Hinduism.

Balinese Hinduism is different than my Surinamese Hindustani Hinduism and different than your Indian Hinduism.

And these differences are mostly culturally determined.

For example: Catholics celebrate Carnaval.
Yet, the way Dutch Catholics celebrate Carnaval is different than the way Brazilian Catholics celebrate it.
It is the same festival, yet local cultural differences make it different from eachother.

Another example: In India they celebrate Diwali different than how we celebrate Diwali. We do not use fireworks.

Cultural practices are always different. That is determined by geography and resource availability.

For example north India does not celebrate Diwali the same way as South India.

Fireworks are actually a south Indian practice, while lighting diyas is a common practice during diwali. In Maharashtra, they hand lanterns. etc.

But the religious books, its interpretation, the itihasa and the Puranas remain the same. Vedas and Agamas remain the same.

You can look up Indonesian Hinduism and you will find it based on Vedic Agama practices. They have the same Itihasa as India i.e. Ramayana and Mahabharata. Same puranas as India and that is why they have Vishnu and Garuda via. the Garuda Purana and the Vishnu Purana.
