Afghan taliban had oportunity to show the world that they are moderate. Instead they let TTP free and started implementing pashtunwali. Making Pakistan look like fool and ISI lumber 100 agency in the world for supporting taliban for decades.

ISIS-K is composed of both ex-TTP and ex-TTA cadre who pledged allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi after death of Mullah Omar.

This organization has its own agenda and spare no side.

- US has struck TTA
- US has struck TTP
- US has struck ISIS-K

But situation in Afghanistan was like this:

1. TTA vs. US-backed Afghan government vs. ISIS-K

2. TTA is on friendly terms with TTP

3. Pakistan support TTA and is always willing to talk to TTP

This is why this mess could not be sorted out.

Let's face it. Pakistan had no coherent policy for Afghanistan.

US decided to focus on dismantling Al-Qaeda Network across AfPak and convince TTA to not support it, and left other matters to Pakistan to sort out.

Now Pakistan finds itself in such a brilliant situation.

Iraqi and Kurd are much more sensible than Pakistan TBH. Both extended full support to US to eliminate ISIL in the Middle East. This is how its done.
