Afghan SIMs, Indian medicines recovered in Chitral raids

I have seen Indian Generic as well as Branded medicines as far as Southern Chile, where even english is difficult.
So get over the conspiracy theories and come back to real world.

nothing wrong with that
There was a news almost a year back may be two, that PTA has disabled the roaming service to Afghan sims, now what is this all about? Border hugging afghan towers or secret guys want to foil something.

I dont know much but sims is a different story. there is a security and misuse issue by terrorists so their ban is valid until peace comes in the region
Indian medicine is a different case. they are not only cheap but also correct one. safeguarding fake and expensive medicine making local industry is wrong policy

CHITRAL: A large number of Afghan SIMs and mobile cards along with medicines of Indian pharmaceutical companies have been recovered from different shops in Arandu village situated on the Pak-Afghan border in the south of Chitral.

Deputy Commissioner Chitral Osama Ahmed Warraich told Dawn on Saturday that many traders had been arrested for selling Afghan SIMs and Indian made medicines.

He said keeping in view the volatile situation in the neighboring area of Afghanistan surveillance had been augmented in the areas of Chitral which bordered Afghanistan.

He said on a tip-off he ordered the Chitral Levies to conduct raids in Arandu town under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner, Drosh, Mohammad Yousuf.

Mr Warraich said the shopkeepers had been asked to surrender the Afghan SIMs and mobile cards as well as the Indian medicines on their own, failing which action would be taken against them.

He said the other border villages were also being kept under strict surveillance to check the use of Afghan mobiles which can be used in subversive activities.

We do not need to. Pakistani pharmaceutical industry has an annual export turnover close to 1 billion $
and produce enough medicines to cover up 95% of our needs

It is a blooming business in Pakistan and since the enforcement of DRAP our quality of medicines has improved

Indian medicines are usually found with terrorists

P.S DRAP guys will keep annoying you till you meet their standards before opening up a Pharmaceutical

Not to forget Gangaland is biggest exporter of fake medicines.. we can not play with lives of our people..

With all due respect...we all know what India (BJP) likes to export to Pakistan an what type of hate they have for us so can't be too careful... Since BJP has come into power everything is political from movies to movie stars the list could go on an on...India is sliding down a slippery slope it's a shame

1) Is it bad just because it is Indian?
> No . We are using many other Indian products. If we are getting a good product from India (imported) by paying our good money then that is fine

2) Is it being confiscated because it came from India for Terrorists use?
> No. If the terrorists are so important that they are being sent stuff from abroad, then there are many channels for them to get the stuff rather than they going out in markets to buy from the shelves. So, yes where there would be instances of terrorists being supplied life saving kits etc made in india (as recovered in various operations) but the ones that are being sold in market are not the ones meant for terrorists

3) Is it bad just because it is smuggled?
> Partly yes.

Then the reason for confiscating medicine?
A smuggled leaf of medicine is not the same as using smuggled blanket. There are far many parameters that are checked before putting any item on the imports list and that too as sensitive as medicine. For instance, the rating of the manufacturer, the license of the manufacturer, quality control procedures in place and the traceable batch references and forgery-check to name a few. Apart from provisions in the agreement to hold the manufacturer responsible under law for any manufacturing faults/ poisoning caused due to faulty methods.

So, in my opinion it is perfectly fine to confiscate such illegal medicines with no traceable quality control measures.

LOL ! MY Company along has 6+ customer in Pakistan for Surgical equipment. shipment /payment of course is done via dubai and hongkong !!

What's wrong with using Indian medicine? India produces cheap medicine which otherwise would cost a fortune if bought from western branded medicine.
Huge standard issues. US and Canada totally banned Indian generic drugs.
