The situation in Afghanistan will improve once Afghan leaders love their own people more than they hate Pakistan.

Afghan leaders have destroyed Afghanistan starting with Mohammed Daoud Khan who got involved with USSR in the hopes of disintegrating Pakistan to make Pashtunistan. As fate would have it, Mohammed Daoud Khan, was assassinated by Afghan-communists Nur Muhammad Taraki and Hafizullah Amin. Both had the full support of USSR but, again, fate would deal Taraki and Amin a miserable hand — assassinations. The instability these Afghan-communist caused led to Soviet–Afghan War followed by Afghan civil war.

Unless Afghans rid themselves of hate, they will continue to destroy themselves and Afghanistan. Ghani will be another casualty of his own hate.

Why dosen't pakistan sincerely enter into a dialogue with afghanistan and try and build a consensus government in afghanistan. Does pakistan really feel that militarily taking over the afghanistan government through the taliban is the only way to get a friendly government in afghanistan ?
I remember this guy tried a lot to build bridges with pakistan at the start of his term .
A compromise is seriously required or this meaningless loss of lives will keep on going on endlessly.

Speaking at the 6th Heart of Asia ministerial conference in Indian city of Amritsar, Ghani refused to accept Pakistan’s 500 million dollar aid for Afghanistan development and said that they don’t need Pakistan’s help.“We need to identify cross-border terrorism and a fund to combat terrorism. Pakistan has pledged 500 million dollars for Afghanistan’s development, but we don’t need it.

“Use the amount to contain terrorism in your country,” he said.
