How are the Afghan people themselves?

Pro-India or pro-Pakistan?

I would say pro Afghanistan.. As they should be... Thats why Pakistan is not making much headway there since Pakistan's strategy in Afghanistan is dependent on exercising control over the govt and population thru oppressive Taliban, which puts it in direct conflict with the aspirations of the common people of the country..

Well the whole argument here is broken down into:

Pakistani viewpoint:- NATO wants to put up a pro-Indian government in Kabul

Indian viewpoint:- We dont want a fanatic Government in Afghanistan

Afghan viewpoint:- All we need is a pro-Afghan government. Is it too much for us to ask?

Everyone seem to be fighting in Afghanistan for their own gains...all I feel is pity for the Afghani people. Be it Pashtun or NA or Taliban...when will these guys realize they are fighting someone else's war?

Check out Page 22 of this BBC,ABC report.
Only 2% of 1500+ Afghan Civilians find Pakistan very favorable.
Whereas it is 29% in case of India.
You can clearly India is more favored than US,Britain,Germany etc.

Pakistanis should realize that ISI is responsible for this because you can't gain strategic depth by supporting terrorists but by winning over the hearts of the ordinary people.

Not to mention that In the last thirty odd years of hosting tens of million of these refugees has only benefited Pakistan with the influx of Guns, Drugs and the menace of the daily bomb attacks.

Drugs is definitely an issue that needs addressing, Pakistani authorities should work symbiotically alongside Iranian authorities, sharing intelligence on the various smuggling rings at work along the porous border.

Any nation doing anything in Afghanistan is doing that for own sake...India is helping and investing so that Afghans do not choose another Fanatic govt and a govt. which understands business. US has to save its face. Pakistan wants a pro-pakistan govt.
Iran does not want another anti-shia govt. so that it does have to burden itself with mass immigration again.
Now its Afghans who have to decide...

Better to dispense with the duplicity and double talk of Karzai and the Afghan puppet government. There was never any doubt these guys were installed by NATO precisely as a pro-India regime. The whole reason NATO had to step in and invade Afghanistan in the first place was because India lost the proxy war with the Taliban v/s Northern Alliance.

If the US had been so solicitous of India, they would not have been arming the Paks to the teeth for so many decades. No, their goals in Afghanistan are different.
