Nevertheless, the point is clear. Afghanistan is a lost cause in the Western perspective. We may have missed a lot of things in dealing with an unknown culture. On that, I have no problems admitting. But the bottom line is that only an 'enlightened' Muslim culture, not Western ideas and the human agency of those ideas, can change Afghanistan.

Speaking as an American who witnessed 9/11 live, as an adult, and as a veteran, we taught the Taliban a hard lesson, it is time we should leave and by 'we', I mean everyone, no matter how well meaning you maybe.

Afghanistan is in a region where the only people who can have any effects on the country and people are the Muslims, and right now, they are no mood to experiment with democracy. Capitalism? Absolutely. The inevitable products of capitalism are women and booze. All MEN like that.

The Taliban now knows that the military wrath of the US is not something they can handle. They can beat their dicks and their women, but not US Marines, US Army soldiers, and USAF A-10s. So from now on, we can be confident that the Taliban will confine their backwardness to Afghanistan, or maybe a little bit of Pakistan. That means Afghanistan as an influence on global affairs can be dismissed. It is time to leave Afghanistan to the 7th century.

If this was the mindset of us generals than we have a problem..tali was an insurgency not a professional military...and it doesnt take an expert to figure out how did the usa do
