Good way to carry out two tests at once; the radar and a new IRBM with a hypersonic glide warhead. spy-6 testing detection is one thing, but finding the means to intercept it is another.

BTW, the “2000 mile” missile (probably flew from Vandenberg to Hawaii, with a land based SPY-6 Facility on one of the islands of Hawaii) is probably the following:
