MUMBAI: India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) has confiscated eight properties and five parking spaces owned by Pakistan-origin singer Adnan Sami Khan under the Foreign Exchange Management Act.
This means that the same has become government properties.

The ED imposed a Rs2 million fine on the singer on the grounds that being a Pakistani national he was not allowed to acquire property in India.

Officials said that in 2003 Khan acquired eight immovable properties along with five parking spaces in Oberoi Sky Garden housing society at Lokhandwala in Andheri for a total consideration of Rs25.3 million.

is it simply implimentation of the law or is there something more that has something to do with age old rivalery? why have the authorities woken up now? he has been happily living in India after ditching his native country for years.

maybe Indian members can explain better why it took so long to aplply this law? were the authorities waiting for him to amess some money first and then strike so that it hurts the most?
I am sure as this thread progresses it will be proven by our Indian members that Adnan deserved it....:azn:
