Few corrections, in the past, Pak army has targeted terrorists in Afghanistan, not the first time that it happened. Secondly, the so called Punjab operation isn't as intensive as it is in Karachi, rangers in Punjab don't have the same powers.

Terrorism will never end, you cannot win this war if you compromise & be complacent about something that has taken thousands of lives.

Essentially, he is doing his job. So I guess in Pakistan we celebrate people doing what they are supposed to .

Not that it takes away from the general but just the apathy of all the commentators

That is all this god forsaken place and people are good for - comments

Which shows that they aren't doing their job, when people celebrate small gains as big achievements. & I've witnessed that every COAS is hero worshiped, once he retires they move onto the next person.

Majority of the commentators aren't even aware of the opinions of officers & jawaans. Things changed slightly during Gen Raheel Sharif's era, but the morale was at the lowest during Gen Musharaf & Gen Kiyani's extension era, and now Gen Bajwa, seems no different, hope i'm wrong.

.
Please define how he is not doing his duty

He didn't impose Martial Law, hang Mariam Nawaz and announce elections within the next 30 days and help PTI win the elections. Correct?

Before someone categorizes me as a Noon Legeia or "Patwari", i not only voted for PTI in 2013 elections but also campaigned for them.

.
1) The mil. courts should start hanging political tangos uzair baloch and sectarian elements caught in south punjab.

2)Fence the pak-iran border starting from south end.Fence the af-pak border ASAP.

3)Pressurize govt. to bring back the stolen money from swiss banks which can be used to pay off the debts.High debt can hamper our security

4)Pressurize govt. to work on the 10 points in NAP. Delays should not be tolerated.Scrutinize those in the way.

5)Only support having elections till the following four things are done, even if we have to wait an extra year for it.
1) Census 2)Delimitation 3) Electorate reforms 4)Overseas Pakistani votecast

You're intelligent and pessimistic - the worst combo of all.

Gen Musharaf & Gen Kiyani's extension era, and now Gen Bajwa, seems no different, hope i'm wrong.

You're wrong.

In the final years of Gen Musharraf, the rank and file was overwhelmingly against him. They felt that he was undermining the institution's image and creating a rift between the military and the public.

Extension-era Kiyani was popular but his credibility took a hit after OBL and Salala but nonetheless, he was seen as quiet, calculated and smart. He was popular for his structural reforms within the Army and was seen as a no-nonsense 'Soldier's General'.

Gen Bajwa is still popular and enjoys the full confidence of the military. Public sentiment against him might be driven by the fact that he is not as media-savvy as his predecessor but the military reposes trust based on other factors. Gen Bajwa remains known as an easy-going yet strong-willed general who believes in doing his job and doing it well. He doesn't make speeches or do media photo sessions but that doesn't make him any less of a leader.

That being said, there is some concern in the military on how these political issues are being handled. The popular sentiment remains that there was no need to become involved in this political mudslinging contest in the first place, the military should have quietly kept at its job seeing as its already fully occupied, be it on the Eastern front, the Western Front, internal security, IBOs or Census.

Desparate times call for desparate measures.
If RS just kept on going by the book,he wouldnt have achieved what he has.He challenged the corrupt politicians. He certainly was more than a textbook COAS.
Gen Bajwa on the other hand seems a typical textbook COAS.He is unlikely to take extra ordinary measures in any direction which is the need of the time.
At most,he'll try to continue things which RS started. Not much is expected of him.
You people have every right to defend your institution but you know very well that this recent u turn by ISPR has pushed the Army in a tight corer as far as the public image is concerened and Army is on its way to become the bad guy if it shows the same spineless attitude in KY case and panama JIT.

after gen Musharaf when zardari came into power the first thing he did was to made changes in constitution and now commander and chief of Pakistan armed forces is now president of Pakistan. if they had kicked them out they you people would have been bashing army and saying army is the enemy of democracy and besides its your shity judiciary who has not taken action against ganja why you people are blaming army for that its not duty of army.
wao now PTI is demanding that army should help them win elections??? can you described why they should be helped by armed forces to win elections.

Indeed, which is why I have stated numerous times that the "rejected' tweet should never have been sent out. It was a stupid and half-assed attempt at currying favour with the reeling masses already baying for blood. That being said however, the Army cannot function like the people want it to right now. The public demands nothing short of hanging the PM and anyone who came within a 200m radius of him during the last two decades. The provision of justice and policing the government is not the military's job to begin with, it is the people's job to make informed electoral decisions and elect a government that they feel best represents them and it is then the court's job to keep the government in check. Unfortunately however, the people sell out their vote in the name of sect and biradari, even a plate of biryani and then complain about what their decision has done to the country while the courts fail to reach a verdict and pass the buck on to some poor bureaucrats to be used as sacrificial lambs.
The military has been politically active in the past and has extensively intervened in politics, however since 2008 there has been an overwhelming consensus that the military should work within its constitutional boundaries and I believe that in the longer run, this decision will help strengthen the executive and the legislature in this country.
Which is why I believe that sending out that "rejected" tweet was a stupid move as it put the military and government on opposite sides with the public following suit, thinking that there could be a compromise after that was simply misreading the popular public sentiment.

as I learned about Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, he is just a nobel & very much capable general. his achievements r ashtonishing. But question is, internal miscreants of Pakistani politics, media, ngo, liberals who're mainly responsible for supporting terrorism anyway. these goons r running out of time and mind to malign Pakistan's new era of physical development which will lead to enrichment of this nation. they're working on behalf of their masters from Washington, telaviv, delhi. they're all over the Muslim world.

BTW, if COAS b able to hang some hundreds of Ts in 2K17 then the nmbr of youngs who're brainwashed to join these killing grps will fall drastically. moreover, COAS must send messages to kabul n tehran that they must repay hard if they join hands with delhi's ugly creatures to destabilize Pakistan either way.

That one tweet ruined the good work of the last 6 years and gave army hater a reason to bash the army and Gen. Bajwa.

I wish there are more people like you in PA. Your kind always made me proud. God bless !

General raheel was extremely popular and I wasn't his Fan like 9/10 percent of the country while I had my admiration for him leaving that aside.
I always knew general Bajwa will deliver the Goods,I just knew that ,It doesn't take a genius to guess somebody else is a genius but i knew.
After General IK Janjua shaheed General Bajwa is second in my list of the all time greats. !!

Sir with all due respect We should focus on conquering our enemy to the east or at least be at peace with them if not capable of conquering.
The minute our Army starts doing politics is the minute it fails to conquer the enemy and instead conquers the people instead.
So I clap to our defenders for their utmost duty.

I strongly condemn your these lines of restrictions and compelled to say that you should not have opened this thread, more you try to overhaul armys reputation more counter productive it will be! , A dirt can only be cleaned by washing that with clean water not by washing with drainage water, it you think you are right in praising Bajwas achievement answer my these questions otherwise there remains no doubt that you are a "unpaid salve of paid slaves"
Q1, do army and nation share the same love and support which they had in past?
Q2, what are the chances of a conflict with in the army now ?
Q3, is the corruption decreased after the bajwa?
Q4, what made bajwa so sure that after gaining COAS post he said there will be peace on loc now?
Q5, where are dr.asim. Shrgeel memon, and other traitors?
Q6, what sort of democracy it would be which he supports as Asif Zardari and NS are fully ready to distribute rupees 2 billions in each NA constituency I.e buy 30,000 to 40,000 votes from the rural areas at the rate Of 5000 to 10000 per vote,
Q7 , where will this country stand if with he help of Bajwa ,NS or AZ gets re elected as they did with the help of kayani?
Now please re count again Bajwas achievements,

Take time to read

- First strikes *deep inside Afghanistan*. No COAS ever conducted strikes inside another country before. Killed hundreds of terrorists in weeks.

- Capture of Ehsan Ullah Ehsan, the *biggest leader of TTP that has been caught so far*.

- Formation of *military courts after they expired*. Faced opposition from political parties, NGOs, human rights groups and international govts but achieved the goal.

- *Hanging* of 26 hardcore terrorists and *death sentences* of over 100. That is more than what Gen(R) Raheel Sharif could achieve in 3 years.

- Surrender of over *600 rebels* in Balochistan. Biggest number yet.

- Rangers *operation inside Punjab*, something no previous COAS could achieve.

- *Largest Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) ever* in the history of Pakistan in every city and town of all four provinces, FATA and AJK/GB.

- Op Rudd ul Fasaad is the *biggest counter terrorism operation* conducted in Pakistan, much bigger than Op Zarb e Azb. But it is done quietly, without fuss. Aim is *results not popularity*.

- Improved *relations with Saudi Arabia and UAE* which were very negative. Also conducted highly successful diplomacy in China, Qatar and UK.

- Despite problems, COAS is working very hard to improve *relations with Afghanistan and Iran*. Has spoken to President Ashraf Ghani three times. Abdullah Abdullah's recent positive statement after Chaman firing is an indication. He will visit Iran soon as well to build trust.

- *Stabilized LOC* which was very hot last year.

- *Census* throughout the country when the Army is fighting a war.

- *Successfully completed an inquiry for the first time ever* in Pakistan's history (Dawn Leaks). Pushed for *sacking of two senior ministers*. Some people disagree about the issue, but they will know the reality as time passes. COAS can take immense pressure from everywhere, yet *always does what is best for Pakistan even if it causes his reputation to suffer*. That is real leadership.

- Trying extremely hard to improve *salaries of Army jawans and young officers*. This work was never done in the last 6 years.

- Has ordered that the *best benefits will be given to Majors and Colonels* in the Army, not Brigadiers and Generals.

- Has started a lot of work improving *medical facilities for Jawans and young officers*, a much needed work. Has *stopped army General officer doctors from doing private practice* so that they can devote time to jawans and their families.

- Pushing the govt very hard on *Madrassah reforms, deweaponization* and forming a counter terrorism national narrative.

- *Fencing of Afghanistan border*. Massive task which no COAS or govt started before.

- Participation of *3 best allies of Pakistan in 23 March parade - China, Saudi Arabia and Turkey*. This has never happened before. Chinese troops never participated in a foreign parade before.

- Improving *relations with US, UK and Russia* at the same time. US has cooperated with Pakistan more in the last 5 months.

- Approved the *death sentence to Indian spy Kalbhoshan Yadav*.

- Actively working for Pakistan in *Reko Diq, Kalbhoshan Yadav and Indus basin cases*.

This soldier is a quiet soldier, who does not want fame and popularity. This soldier is doing all that he can for Pakistan while respecting and helping democracy.

This soldier was targeted by social media campaign before he became COAS, and is now targeted again. He does not respond. He stays close to jawans and officers. He does his work and has achieved more than what was achieved in 3 years.

He has asked no one to create his media or social media image. He takes pressure quietly, does not respond but just does what is good for Pakistan even if it hurts his image. He has achieved this much in just 5 months, without creating noise.

He is *General Qamar Javed Bajwa*, an honest and a decent soldier who believes in results, not popularity. He does not want your praise or hero status. Pray for Pakistan, Pakistan Army and him.
