I am simply responding in kind to the type of arguments presented here. If [WE] put forth faith-oriented argument for our claim over Jerusalem then Jews will counter it with their own, and this argument will go nowhere.

The modern state of Israel in its initial form did not had access to Jerusalem. Thanks to shortsighted politics of the post-Ottoman Arabs, Jerusalem fell to IDF in 1967.

Now what shall we do about it?

US will offer a section of Jerusalem to Palestinians in the soon-to-be-unveiled deal as a part of the resolution of ongoing Israel-Palestine dispute, something better than nothing. Palestinians can negotiate for access to Masjid al-Aqsa regardless.

My POV is that Palestinians should strive for UN-recognized statehood first. Access to Masjid al-Aqsa can be sorted out next.

Exactly...people who are protesting here do not realize the life of ordinary people in a war zone...The problem of Palestine issue could have been handled if all the nation in middle east could sort out among themselves rathe making it a religious issue..The moment this issue is categorized as Muslim issue, then West and European world started to see the issue in different way...

We say the green light ..because it was proven by the events after the war and till now.. that there were no grave consequences for it.. to the contrary!..Otherwise Egypt alone was strong enough to take at least half of Usrael at that time..Food for thoughts..
