About the movie: Kabul Express

Just watched the movie,nice one. I myself is a hiker beside day-to-day work,and enjoy pretty much the wild open landscape shown in the film.

Kabir Khan is a director/screenwriter,I like his humor sense. He is an Indian guy and the story is about Afghanistan during post911 wartime,of course, in an Indian sightline (or international one,that's why an American journalist joins the dramatic hostage). The scenario is set in way of peace calling and perceivably imputing the war to Pakistan's fault,which is suggested by a subtile connection between the Pakistani soldier and Taliban. I dont know whether Afghanishtani people really hate the Taliban regime or even the Pakistani.

Three journalists belong to the enlightened part of the world,while the Pakistani soldier should be nobody but a kind father on the uncivilized highland,if not a gunman. whatever cultural differences or subjective measure is Khan trying to bring upon, the last words about the Pakistani soldier might be the best revelation: why are you our enemy?

I'm not here to cause any debate, just want to know your opinions pls.

Quite a few hollywood movies had been making zanies of Chinese people, but has changed when Chinese movie began to win its fame in the world's mainstream and especially when Chinese directors and actors/actress came into international stardom.

Bollywood is the highlight among Indian industrial success. I just feel that filmdom could be a strategic industry in getting people on your side, if not mentioning about Cultural invasion.

Kabul Express banned by Afghanistan

Karachi, Feb 12 : Afghanistan has banned Indian-made film Kabul Express after an outcry from the ethnic Hazara minority, which is described in the movie as “the most dangerous tribe” in the country. This has now elicited protests from some quarters in Pakistan for reflecting the “traditional anti-Pakistan and anti-Islam mentality of India”.

Malik Sikandar Awan, chairman of the Punjabi Pakhtoon Ittehad (PPI), led a protest demonstration against the film outside the Karachi Press Club and demanded that both India and Pakistan ban it.

He said the “double standards” of India were a hurdle towards establishing peaceful and friendly relations between Pakistan and India.

Islamabad should also lodge an official protest with New Delhi, he said

Sorry but the way they have portrayed the government of Pakistan and the soldiers of Pakistan is nothing but an insult to them. It is one of the reasons why i am against Bollywood being in Pakistani theaters. Boycotting the whole Bollywood because of these movies, should stop creation of propaganda against Pakistan.

I'm with you Webby, thats' why I made sure my girl doesn't watch Indian films (before I get engaged), I just don't want any garbage drama influence in my house.

It's amazing what these Indian's in bollywood can pull from their backside, these people never before had access in Afghanistan and now they made a movie on it. And this trash of a film is already banned in Afghanistan.

Trash of a movie or not. Its a MOVIE. People get it, its as simple as that. You dont like a movie, dont watch it.

Webby, do you really think banning Indian movies in Pakistan, will make Indian directors 'reconsider' their ways?? Pakistan offers no commercial gain to Bollywood anyways, no one will care.

However if Pakistan opens up to Indian movies, and Bollywood earns a LOT of revenue from Pakistan as it does in India. If in that scenario, some movie causes a stir, then THAT would indeed cause them to rethink.

Plus, banning Indian movies does not make sense. If there is some movie that does not appeal to the masses, it will automatically flunk at the box office. So whats the whole political point here?

Below is more than enough reason to ban Bollywood movies after watching this I lost interest in Superman :wall:, never have I seen anything sensible that was worth watching, same goes for Pakistan Industry where all they talk about is marriage, except for military episodes. Film industry of both nations suck! (Again my opinion)

I appreciate ur comments mate............but i am fully disagree here.....dont u think or realise these kindaa propaganda movies not just showing the bad image but also filling their hearts with anger....instead they could make some really good stuff in order to enhance friendship and much more, they can make a better use of them........i feel sorry for the bollywood and for those poeple who act in such movies. pathetic indeed.

oh! Didnt realise that, the general direction of the thread was moving towards ban of bollywood in Pakistan.

I saw the movie. The movie indeed has a unilateral POV. But what more do you wan to discuss about it?
