About the movie: Kabul Express

Below is more than enough reason to ban Bollywood movies after watching this I lost interest in Superman :wall:, never have I seen anything sensible that was worth watching, same goes for Pakistan Industry where all they talk about is marriage, except for military episodes. Film industry of both nations suck! (Again my opinion)

Wow, is that for real!!

Aduxji,

I loved it, but which movie IS IT?

And PakSniper...I disagree, MANY movies in bollywood are bad, but MANY are EXCELLENT as well. There is a reason why Bollywood is such a big industry and why it has immense viewership. There is a reason that there is a demand for such movies in many other countries as well.

I cant say about the Pakistan film industry, because i have not seen it. It is unfair for me to judge.

oh! Didnt realise that, the general direction of the thread was moving towards ban of bollywood in Pakistan.

I saw the movie. The movie indeed has a unilateral POV. But what more do you wan to discuss about it?

The only effort of the ban is to cut off some % of Indian publishers' revenue. If an outstanding movie can be produced by bollywood, it'll however spread all around.

what I'm wondering is:

1. Was the movie shot in Afghanistan?

2. In Afghanistan, what is the public opinion respectively over Indian and Pakistani people?
(the movie makes Indian and Afghanistani like family, but treat Pakistani equally as Taliban)

3. Do Afghanistani people hate the Taliban guys to the bone?
(In the movie, they do) I ever learned that in Taliban era,the Afghanistani society had been grimly under control, with no bedlam at all. even thieves didn't often act in fear of the forcible management. it was after being "rescued" by US army that the country fell into disorder.

4. Why is the soldier fearing of revealing his identity?
The soldier is Pakistani, and his daugther lives in a poor Afghanistani village close to Pakistan. Pakistan had been assistant to US army against Taliban. I have no question if villagers do hate Taliban, but when villagers strike the two Taliban guy, why is the Pakistani soldier so worried and dare not to get off the jeep? villagers would beat him to death,ok,but why? Does the movie suggest a connection between Pakistan and Taliban?

5. How do you think about the soldier's death?
the episode in the end of the movie shows the Pakistani border post shoot at the returning soldier and take his life without any identification.
is the movie trying to put Pakistan into immorality in order to make clear of the war's origin?

I haven't seen the movie so don't know what you guys are talking about...

Yes.

Cannot say for myself.

No, Taliban forced the country into economic ruin, opium etc were cultivated. They spread their own versions of Islam and enforced it. Women were brutally suppressed, etc, etc. Taliban is one pill that Afghanistan does not want again, apart from the extremists there ofcourse, which are aplenty there. There is an extremist culture in those areas nowadays, because of many reasons, like prolonged rule by Taliban, before that teh Russians, etc, etc.

Ofcourse! Taliban was trained in Pakistan and funded by Americans. Many Pakistani's were motivated to join the religious war as they put it in Afghanistan. It was Pakistan's creation and they obeyed Pakistan for a while, then they grew too big for Pakistan to control. The movie shows that that man was in the Pakistan Army and sent over to Afghanistan to be in Taliban.

Villagers would beat him to death, because they hate Taliban, because Taliban ran the country in a brutal way.

It was VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY sad. I would rather have had the dude cross over into Pakistan, but well....

That is because of the diplomatic line of Pakistan, that no Pakistani is among the Taliban, so therefore no Talib could come 'back' to Pakistan, thus they had to shoot him. As the Pakistani border guards talk about it.

Your information about taliban is limited to the Hindi fairy tale movies.

BS. thousands of people every day cross Afghan Pakistan border, why to stop Pakistanis.
BTW, diplomatic line of Pakistan has been very successful, in flushing out all the foreign fighters.
Bolly wood is another Indian propaganda machine.

Indians are like Bangladeshis to them. Reporters, Tourists. They regard India as Pakistans enemy.

Yes, after the Taliban take over, many moved to Pakistan. Taliban was supported by Pakistan/CIA only to the extent of driving the Soviets out of the Afghanistan, and so the only actual power remain in Afghanistan was of the Taliban. They took the authority by themselves, and making sure that government of Afghanistan is stable CIA/Pakistan helped them, but later on affairs between each other changed.

Bollywood movie. They ended it the way they wanted to. That includes.

The guy crossing with the AK-47.
Pakistani soldiers killing him because no soldier is in Afghanistan.
And the list goes on..

I think Webby also by and large said the same thing. Pakistan/CIA supported Taliban, trained, armed, funded them, later Taliban grew too big to be controlled by Pakistan. And there are many links supporting that too.

Must be to you, i dont care. This was the time when Afghan war was on. Not now.
