Abhinandan in 2010: Bad attitude should be the attribute of SU-30 Pilots

western fighters like French and Americans have very high rates almost t 70%. the reason why even indai prefers them..

i assume jf17 will have very high rates given everything is local, the mirages everything is done in house albeit by using parts from the huge collection PAF bought

f7s are almost gone, I think there are just 3 squadrons left, they might go this year or next year..f16 saga basically not only meant we had to buy F7PGs in early 2000s but it also meant, we keep flying it rather than replacing them

I think the story behind Russian jets is to sell them cheap and than milk customers on overhauls and maintenance cost..the reason why they are very cheap to buy

70% for F16 is more in line with expectation. Towards the end of 2018, India signed an agreement with Russia regarding the availability of spare parts. It has a stated aim to bring fleet availability of MKIs to 80% with expectation to have the requested part hit the manufacturing floor within a month of part request. But there has been no update about the success or lack there of this since then.

Where do you get the 70% range for the F-16s? If I were a betting man, I will wager PAF’s F-16 availability rates are closer to the 85-90% range. The JF-17s will also fall in this range albeit closer to the higher end of the range.

its possible, but most of western countries have their f16s at 70% even though they don't have any extensive network, so I am taking a conservative number higher
I think jf17 is probably at 80%

It was just a speculation on my part given that PAF does not locally manufacture spares for F16. Although I could be wrong as f16s are used by many countries. Please share if you have reliable articles on this topic.

IAF doesn't discriminate between fighters. MiG21 gets the same respect as anything else. Once a fighter is put through gruelling paces, it's part of the family.

It's simply the role of the tools that change. And Varthamānam's Bison did its role.
just an off topic question .

western nations are phasing out their F-16s and alot of F-16s are just in storage. Heck US is converting alot of F-16s into targeting drones!
