Abe: US, Japan close to TPP trade deal

.
Nothing is ever black and white, and what is worst is that neo-cons will try to use the China card to entice this deal. Of course pragmatists like you and I see through these things. Those who are naive will jump at the opportunity simply for the
'anti china' aspect. Sad really.
Yeah, you guys are pragmatists, but you guys are not JP PM who will have to sign anything that make daddy US happy. If you dont sign, then CIA will kill you like S.VN president Ngo Dinh Diem.

So, JP PM simply has no choice but to sign the deal to save his own Azz :)

From now, we will see more JPese lose their jobs in agriculture sectors, they also must eat all kind of unsafe US beef, chicken like TWese, they will have to pay more for the living cost , too. ..etc... not only JPese, but other US's vassal states in the TPP will suffer the same things, but they simply have no choice. Their existence are just to serve the benefit for daddy US. That's all .

Don't count chickens before they hatch. TPP isn't even signed yet.

A narrow view is usually the domain of fools.

If the TPP is good, then you guys don't have to try to delay it.

95% JP PM will sing the deal soon, he needs to save his own azz and his family first, just like S.VN president Ng. Van. Thieu willing to sign anything to avoid being killed like Ngo Dinh Diem. Who cares if some JPese lose their jobs and pay more for living cost, right ?

It is indeed unfortunate to hear that the Vietnamese statesman Ngo Dinh Diem was assassinated , however, there is no applicability that lesson to Japan since no Japanese Prime Minister has been assassinated before , let alone threatened. Your poor attempt is laughable at best. Again, let me redirect the discourse here --- the TPP hasn't even been signed yet, in fact, these talks have been on going since 2012, and still no positive development besides talks and further studies. In the end, Abe will not sign until he is given the approval of the President of the House of Councilors of the Japanese National Diet. Unfortunately for pro-TPP, the Japanese House of Councilors is conservative and is sympathetic towards the Japanese farming community, which opposes the TPP. If the concerns of the Farming Community and the Japanese Auto Industry remains unsatisfied --- then the possibility of a conclusion of this TPP will be nill. Abe , an elected individual, cannot make unilateral action without the approval of the Diet. If the Diet says No, Abe says No.

Capiche? Intiende? Comprende?

Okay, you can keep denying the truth, but it won't change. JP is just like S.VN . No JP was killed bcs no JP PM dare to say 'No' to US like president Ng.Dinh Diem. I bet that JP will join the TPP deal after 3 more years due to the growing threat from CN to US.

We can wait and see what will happen next, and you know what I said is right or wrong after 3 years :)

Heaven alone knows what will happen in the future.

Japan doesn't want hegemony over Asia , Mike. Nor do we ever claim have such designs. Our past goals of ASEAN+ 3 is an example of our multilateral framework. If you guys actually read the reason for Japan's apprehension in joining the AIIB it is based in policy concerns namely the security and legal processes that has to be ironed out by the AIIB. Japan is a country that values jurisprudential transparency as much as we do with anti corruption drives and principles. Once China led AIIB solves all issues, and Japan's concerns are satisfied, then we will join.

When you want to buy a new car, you don't buy it immediately with the car dealers breathing down your neck. No, you walk away first, assess the interest rates, the package deal, and discern if it's really right for you.

Remember , Japan doesn't need funding. We lead the ABD which has a total funding of $250 Billion. Japan also has a combined pension fund + Forex of $2.5 Trillion (USD). We are neck deep in money. lol. Japan doesn't beg nations for funding, it's the other way around , lol.

I'm skeptical about the TPP, really. I'll believe it when I see it.

LMAO.......:lol: Are you serious Nihonji san?? you said Japan is apprehensive about joining the AIIB because of the security and legal processes that has to be ironed out by the AIIB and because Japan values jurisprudential transparency and bla bla bla. :blah::blah: So you mean my country, France , Germany, Denmark, Switzerland,Luxemborg, Norway, and other european countries who joined the AIIB dont follow legal processes and are not transparent?? Are you trying to say Japan is better than us Europeans in this field??:o: We have more experience than even you in carrying out projects overseas based on this very same issues you raised 'concern' over. :sarcastic:

Come on Nihonji thought you were better than this, we are not naive, nor are we stupid/illiterates. Everybody with a LITTLE bit of knowledge/common sense knows fully well that Japan didnt join(and wont join anytime soon) simply because it sees the AIIB as a real threat(and i agree its a threat to Japan interests in the region) to its ADB(which Japan dominates completely with the U.S). So its not like im blaming Japan, im not. I just find it funny you tried to justify it using words U.S/Japanese diplomats used just so they don't sound childish by being honest to admit the real reason they dont want to join. LOOL So chill down with the transparency/legal processes bullshit(excuse me the word bro). There's no child on here.:pleasantry:

Anyway, will be interesting to see how thing plays out these coming years with AIIB and Japan//U.S reaction. The game is getting very interesting indeed. As for TPP, well Japan now has even more reason to sign it, if it doesnt want to see its influence wane even further with time as China grows stronger and AIIB taks full shape. The ba is in Japan's camp. It either accept a Chinese dominance in the region with time, or align itself with the U.S to better face this threat. Abe seems to have amde up his mind as we can all see: i.e choosing the later. The game is just starting, it wil indeed be a longggg and interesting one i must say.:enjoy: can't wait:bunny::yahoo:

Japan is too proud to accept dominance iof China in Asia.
Japan has been leader of east Asia in economy and military for 30 years.
These glorious time is hard to forget..
Also Japan has the power to waste for a while before facing the reality..

Nope its not a matter of being proud, its a matter of national interests. Established powers wil ALWAYS try and undermine an upcoming one as much as they can, doesnt matter which country that established power might be. So Japan is simply doing what it things is in its interests(which i agree with). If i was in the same situation i would have done the same.:enjoy:

Why would the Asian Development Bank be threatened ? Japan is not threatened or affected by competitor banks such as the World Bank or the IMF. Seriously, there is no shortage of loan applications, lol. Again, the ADB's capacity is over $250 Billion. The AIIB's is $50 Billion. Even if say the AIIB grows in parity with the ADB, what that means is that there will be more options for developing nations for infrastructure and aggregate loans. Its a win win situation for everyone; the ADB, the AIIB, and the developing world.

.
You are right.
What I mean is Japan still want to process things like 30 years ago when it was the only economy super power in Asia.
But now things has changed a lot.
National interest is one thing. National power is another thing..
Without national power, it is hard to protect and gain national interests..

Contrary to what you said Mike, as we speak, the ADB is already starting its cooperative agenda with the AIIB.
