I am a liberal guy myself , but that does not take away the fact that the Maratha's were the primary force that defeated the Mughals & also promoted their Dharmic swaraj & thus needed to be defeated .

The Punjab and the rest of Pakistan could have flourished under the Maratha rule. During the British period the princely states that were ruled by the Maratha rulers in Gujarat and Maharashtra were the most developed regions of whole India.
Even today Maharashtra and Gujarat are some of the most developed regions of South Asia.
On the other hand Pakistan and Afghanistan are today the least developed regions of South Asia because these regions
were for a long time under Turkic rule.

No, eastern India was for the longest time under direct British rule and today eastern India is the least developed region

Try to be more logical next time. Indians do not consider foreign invaders, particularly those who were into raping and massacering locals our heroes. That disctinction goes to Pakistanis. Even Indian Christians do not consifer British invaders and imperialists heroes, and indian christians also do not claim they ruled us because the british did.

Ahmad Shah Abdali was perhaps a bit of a looter but there really wasnt much in Pakistani Punjab to loot , most of Pakistani Punjab is made up of rivers , river beds and agricultural lands and most people are a associated with agriculture even today , so exactly what was it that Abdali could loot from farmers ? not much other than their crops but there really aren't that many account of crop looting by Ahmad Shah , which explains why opinions about Abdali in Pakistanis Punjab range from indifference to appriciation, mainly for attacking Hindustan.

Ahmad Shah was after the riches that were held in what is present day india, gold and ornaments , same as Mehmood Ghaznavi , there wasnt much in Pakistani Punjab that he was after as such other than strategic positioning of forces , thats why he did four invasions of what is present day india and plundered Delhi, Agra, Mathura, and Vrndavana.
